The Lead Sport Operations Officer position is located within the Sport Operations team, which is part of the Sports Engagement group. The team is responsible for the delivery of those aspects of ASADA’s doping control program concerning test planning and athlete support services. Purpose of the position Design, implement and evaluate doping control programs and other compliance interventions in collaboration with National Sporting Organisations (NSOs), International Federations, National AntiDoping Organisations and major event organisers. Duties and Key Activities Contribute to the development and implementation of intervention strategies in partnership with NSOs, professional sports, major event organisers and other stakeholders, as part of ASADA’s integrated operating model. Assist the Sport Operations Manager to develop an effective, intelligence led and proportionate test distribution plan that is compliant with the requirements of the International Standard for Testing and Investigations. Lead the development and maintenance of sport risk profiles. Contribute to relevant ASADA operational meetings including the Tactical Intelligence Meeting. Direct the day-to-day activities of the Sport Operations Officers and Athlete Services Officer, including working to maximise the targeted nature of ASADA’s testing program. Prepare reports relating to the performance of Sport Operations activities and functions Identify risk and sensitivities in Sport Operations activities and escalate the as necessary Manage relationships with professional sports, including the day-to-day administration of user-pays contracts. Coordinate testing of Australian athletes overseas Report against Sport Operations compliance measures, including the Australian Sports Commission’s Annual Sports Performance Review, World Anti-Doping Agency Compliance Survey, and Operating Model review and evaluation processes. Accountabilities Deliver compliant, effective, intelligent and proportionate sport test distribution plans that meet the requirements of the overarching ASADA Test Distribution Plan. Contribute to the activities of the Sport Operations team in accordance with ASADA’s legislative framework, the World Anti-Doping Code, and ASADA’s operating model. Implement test planning services within the allocated resources. Implement test planning services under contract within Australian Government requirements and in line with contract deliverables. Ensure that the APS Values and Code of Conduct are adhered to at all times. Endorse and encourage ‘best practice’ recordkeeping in accordance with ASADA’s Record Keeping Policy and Information Governance Framework. Cooperate with the employer and comply with all relevant legislation and ASADA’s health and safety policies, procedures and instructions and ASADA’s ICT and Information Governance Framework. Work and act safely and take all reasonable care to protect personal health and safety and the health and safety of others. Ability to coordinate workflows and provide direction and leadership to staff in a team environment. Ability to identify risk, and propose or implement mitigation strategies Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships. Experience in developing and implementing compliance, regulatory or audit plans and programs. Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Sports Administration or a related discipline are desirable but not essential. Eligibility Requirements The successful applicant must be an Australian citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a Baseline Security Clearance. The successful applicant may also be required to undergo a medical assessment.
