A final sporting flurry has hit Crags with
great success in the last few Maltby family
events in the last few weeks. The
Partnership Hockey finals were held at
Dinnington High School all day on Friday
27th November and this was contested
between schools from across the whole of
Rotherham.
Crags had their mixed under 9's and Under
11 girls representing Maltby and some
incredibly close games led to a fixture list of
draws and narrow defeats.
All the children represented school superbly
and were a credit to Mr Vickers, Mr Brock
and Miss Beresford.
Finally, Friday 11th December was the
Maltby Hot shots under 9 basketball
Competition which was contested between
Crags and Maltby Lily Hall school. The game
was end to end with some great attacking
and defending from both teams however,
the games was narrowly lost 18-21 and Lily
Hall were victorious on this occasion.
Mr Vickers and Miss Beresford were
incredibly proud of the 11 Year 4's that
represented school on that afternoon.

Thank you to all parents for their support
throughout the year.
2 Year Old Provision
From January 2016 Crags
Community School will be
changing from a 3-11 year old
School to a 2 -11 year school.
This is because Crags will now be
leading the 2 year old provision
(Day Care) at the Children’s
Centre.
We are very excited about the
new development and look
forward to keeping you up to date
with this new area of our school!
Please may I remind you that the school
day starts at 8:50 a.m.
A warning buzzer sounds at
8:45 a.m. and then the children should
be entering school by 8:50 a.m.
Thank you to everyone that gets to
school on time.
Attendance Information
We would like to inform you that the
Department for Education has
changed some of its Persistent
Absence agenda. All schools are
required to submit data to their Local
Authority for pupils whose school
absences fall below a certain
threshold - set by the Department for
Education (DfE).
From September 2015, the persistent
absence (PA) criteria changed from
15% to 10% of school days missed.
This means that any pupil who falls
below 90% attendance will be
included in data collected by the Local
Authority.
Thank you for your continued support
and encouragement in ensuring that
your child attends school regularly.
All staff would like to wish you all a Merry
Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thank you once again for your continued
support.
