Job purpose:
To support the Communications Department in the areas of Media Relations,
Public Affairs, Marketing Communications and Internal Communications

Responsibilities:

The point person for all media accreditation duties at the Club.

Work all First Team home matches as a runner and point person for issues
relating to media accreditation. You will also be involved in a number of
Academy, EDS and MCWFC fixtures.

Facilitate filming and media requests at City Football Academy to include First
Team, MCWFC, EDS, Academy and commercial.

Support the Communications Department in creating concepts for content
across in house and external print, digital and broadcast media

Support the Communications Department in identifying opportunities for
potential initiatives to enhance the reputation of Manchester City FC, and
present such initiatives for approval

Proactively seek and create good news stories to share through Club channels
both internally and externally.

Conduct media monitoring and generate coverage reports following Club
announcements and events.

Assist in implementing communications campaigns and events.

Undertake research projects as and when required supporting the
communications activity of various departments.
OTHER

Provide overall administrative support for the communications team.

Assisting with finance tasks including raising POs.

To keep up to date with the football calendar, flag any key dates and action
accordingly.

Scope of job
The Communications Intern will not be in charge of a budget or supervise any staff
members.
There will be a number of key projects and initiatives across the Communications
department that you will be involved in.
You will be responsible for all media accreditation duties at the Club.

Person Specification
Job Title: Communications Intern

Knowledge:
Evidence of Marketing, Communications and/or Public Affairs learning such as topics/ modules taken
at University.
Technical/work-based skills:
MS Office
Proficient with the use of social media
General skills and attributes:
Successful candidates will need to show good communication skills, both written and verbal, as they
will be expected to interact with a number of stakeholders both internal and external.
Candidates should have excellent organisation and skills as they will be expected to manage their
own schedule.
Administrative skills and attention to detail are very important for this role.
Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
We are looking for a candidate who is pro-active and creative with a can-do attitude.
Experience:
Previous work experience in a Communications / PR environment is desirable
Qualifications:
Educated to degree level.
