A meme carries with it cultural ideas, symbols, or practices. Memes are often meant to be humorous or satirical but can also be emotional or thought-provoking. Here is just one example of a meme: Another popular form of Meme is the ecard: Your Mission Your mission is to work with a partner to create a meme that identifies a safety rule from our discussion on Computer & Lab Safety. You can use any format you want, but it must be school appropriate. Visit my website for links to Meme Generators. Or, you can create a meme using your choice of software. After you create your meme, each person should write 4-5 sentences that describe and explain what you put in your meme and why you chose that Meme to highlight your safety rule. This should be submitted on my blog. Meme Rubric Your task is to work with a partner to create a MEME about Computer & Classroom Safety. The following elements are required: 1. A picture that is school appropriate and can be related to the particular topic (remember, part of the humor of the meme is that the picture may not be of what you are talking about…but you will relate it with the text you incorporate). 2. Picture should be of clear quality. Search for images that have a high resolution so they will not pixelate when you make them larger. 3. Text should be clear and easy to read from a reasonable distance. Remember, this is meant to be hung in the classroom. It should be viewable from a few feet away. 4. After you complete the meme, you will write a response (posted on my blog) where you will explain what safety rule you chose and why you chose to represent that rule with your meme.
