How to create a “Library Bingo” game sheet Helpful Hint: Before you start: open and view “Bingo Sheet Formatted.doc” This shows how the finished product will appear. You may also use this game sheet “as is” or modify it by deleting certain images and putting in others. Instructions on how to do this follow below. Step 1. Insert CD-ROM and open “Bingo Sheet Blank.doc” Step 2. Create simple rules. Place cursor on the box after the word “Rules” and describe how to play the game. EXAMPLE: “Library Bingo” is scored when 5 squares are “checked off” or completed 1 row vertically, 1 row horizontally, OR 1 row diagonally. When complete, bring game sheet to the Circulation Desk to get your prize! Those who complete the entire game sheet will be entered into a drawing for the grand prize. Completing your “Library Bingo” sheet with another person will not be penalized. Have fun! NOTE: Rules box is limited to 8 lines of text. Additional text will disappear behind the game grid. Step 3. Insert images into the game sheet “squares” from any or all of the three image folders: LIBRARY ACTIVITIES, READING GENRES, AND STATES. To do this: a. On blank game sheet, click inside the square where you want to place an image. b. From the toolbar, click on Insert>Picture>From File c. Locate and click on disk drive holding the CD-ROM files. Open the image folder of your choice and click on the Low-Res folder. d. On top task bar, click on >views >thumbnails. This is the easiest way to see the images and select them. e. To place image in the square, double-click on the image. It will appear in the square where the cursor is. Option: You may add your own images and/or text but you may need to size to fit in the square. f. Move cursor to another blank square and repeat process until all desired images are in place. NOTE: The STATES folder contains only images, no words. After inserting the image type in text of your choice– limit 2 lines. EXAMPLES: Connecticut Authors, Cookbooks from Maine, New York Poets. g. At bottom of form add more text if needed – limit 5 lines. Step 4. Print game sheets – using any standard office printer. a. Distribute to patrons of all ages. “Bingo” is great for sparking their interest in all that your library offers! Bonus images – High-Res Check out the High-Res Image folders.
