RIDE THE HILL BIRTHDAY PARTY Mountainboarding is seriously fun outdoor sport that has really exploded in the UK over the past few years. A Mountainboard is a cross between a skateboard and a snowboard which can be used on any EXPERIENCE terrain, but most commonly found on big rolling grassy hills. The basic principle behind Mountainboarding is fairly simple - get down the hill having as much fun as you possibly can and try cool new moves along the way. Ride The Hill are the UK’s leading Mountainboard activity centre teaching thousands of first timers every year. “We had a lesson followed by free riding and BBQ. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was an incredible day and we will all be returning very soon. Thank you everyone at Ride the Hill :) “ What Happens On The Day? Once you have arrived and have been welcomed to Ride The Hill, your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of the grounds and the boards. You will then be kitted out with everything you need including a board and all of the protective gear. After the safety briefing you will meet your instructor who will first determine your stance and practice some basic stationary techniques. Once you understand these stationary principles it’s time to put them to the test on the nursery slope. You will practice a number of techniques enabling you to control the board. Once deemed competent with stopping and turning you will move onto bigger slopes where you will continue to practice your new skills. You will receive training on using the ski style drag lift if you are at the required standard. Then it’s on to the really fun stuff. You will have a fun packed half an hour of competitions and games with your instructor, which will include races, slaloms and novelty games. Throughout the session your instructor will be on the lookout for people to award at the end of the session. Just before home time the instructor will award certificates to his chosen people and there will be an opportunity for a photo on the Ride The Hill podium. The children can then have food or a break and they will have a further half hour on their own practising on any blue slope. ALSO...The birthday child gets a gift from the Ride The Hill team on the day. (It’s a secret...) What Should We Wear?
