EYFS Adult Input Plan Topic Theme/Aspect: People and Communities Activity Title: The Queen’s Birthday Date: 21/04/2017 Organisation: Indoors or Outdoors up to 18 children at any given time. Learning Goal: Learns that they have similarities and differences that connect them to, and distinguish them from others. (Understanding the World: People & Communities 40-60). Key Questions: What nice presents could we make or buy for the queen? How many Party hats are there? Let’s Count What else would the Queen like? Where does the queen live? How does the Drawbridge work? Key Vocabulary: The Queen, Birthday, Castle, Palace, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Party Hats, Snacks, Presents, Juice, Drawbridge. Resources: Nets, Footballs, Kits, 15x4 G, B, Y & R cones, 1; G, B, Y & R Witch Hat Cone, 4 Different Coloured Hoops, Tunnel, Bendy Bridge, Cones with Sticks, Bean Bags, Balance Beams, Sharks. Adult Role(s): Little game: The Legends are going shopping for the party. Throw 4 (60) different coloured cones in a huge pile in centre of room. Green- Fruit Juice (Apple) Blue- Presents Red- Party Hats Yellow- Snacks/Sandwiches • • Without Ball: Coach spreads cones all around the room and places one witch hat cone in each corner of the room; Little Legends collect 1 gift at a time and take it to the relevant coloured witch hat cone; Children must place cone on witch hat cone & collect another. With Ball: Coach spreads cones out individually but in a tight circle in centre of room. This time Little Legends must dribble to centre and locate the correct corner to place present, then return to centre to collect another until all cones have been placed in the corners. Bring all 4 corners in front of the children and recite numbers in order to 15. Legends game: Mummy’s Special Day 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Go into Bedroom (Coned Area) & put on party clothes (Hoop over Head). Go downstairs (Tunnel) & out of front door (Bendy Bridge). Down the road to the Palace/Castle (4 Cones with Sticks on). Jump with The Queen on the Bouncy Castle (Coned Area- Blue, Yellow, Blue, Yellow…). Play pass the parcel (Throw bean bag to parent/carer 10 times). Oh no! it’s time to go home! Carefully cross the Drawbridge (Balance Beams with Sharks & Blue cones at the side). With ball: 1. Put foot on ball to lift hoop. 3. Move 2 Sticks to dribble straight through. 4. Remove Bean bags and pass ball ten times. 5. Dribble ball over the Drawbridge, don’t fall in! Penalties: Jump over the 4 Bouncy Castles (Hoops).
