DGI Badminton INTERNATIONALLY
DGI Badminton thinks that everybody should have the opportunity of having
an international experience. Not only the top stars of badminton in the world
elite should be reserved the opportunity to meet players and leaders from
other countries.
ISCA is the natural forum of cooperation. DGI Badminton aims at co-operating
with as many nations as possible to be able to offer Danish players,
instructors, and leaders a lot of colourful and exciting possibilities to form a
friendship across frontiers and cultures. Contact to and development of 2sided agreements with badminton organisations in other countries.
Projects of development
The Danish association life is unique. The process of ”performing to enjoy” is
unknown in many countries. It is a matter of course that a voluntary person
can be a leader in Denmark but it is not like that in all countries.
Process:
 meeting with mutual cultural exchange
 mapping of local activity possibilities
 prevalence of the knowledge about badminton
 agreements concerning the distribution of work
 promotion about sports and human culture
 Badminton/culture trips
Means:
 Danish instructors and leaders in badminton show and explain about
the game and the association life in DGI.
 Create an interest by committed telling about Danish players’ and
leaders’ experience and joy of creating a fellowship together with
others within the association.
Exchange
We believe that the direct meeting between people from different countries
and cultures is of great value. Therefore it should be possible for everybody
who is interested no matter his or her age and level to get a share of that
experience.
ISCA arrangements:
With DGI as organiser.
Every year the Youth are invited to:
 Landsbadmintonstævne – LBS (an international meeting in badminton) in
October
 Meetings in DGI’s county clubs.
 Camps in the summer holidays.
DGI Badminton invites to the following international arrangements:
Seniors, Young Veterans (aged 35-40), Veterans (aged 40 or more),
Recreational players, and Older People (aged mostly more than 60) are
invited to:
 Landsstævne (an international meeting) every 4th year at the end of June/
start of July.
 Between these meetings different Festivals or Tournaments.
With DGI as a participating nation
DGI badminton receives invitations to meetings in several countries. These
are given to the players in the clubs and in the future more will participate in
meetings in foreign countries.
The competent / skilled young ones
A group of competent young 17 to 22 years old players meet 4 weekends a
year, where they get an education as instructor and will afterwards be used as
instructors in the DGI regions. They participate in different LBS and they are
reprehensive through international Tournaments. All together with the
personal, human competences they represent DGI on many occasions.
Trips for the members
DGI Badminton arranges trips for the players to the Far East.
These trips offer games in the heat and moist climate of the East. Lots of
cultural experiences.
Meetings with players both on the court and outside the court.
The participants themselves pay for the trips.
