Camp Director—Billy Mims
Billy Mims, the all-time winningest coach in Florida Tech
Men’s Basketball, has run summer basketball camps for
boys and girls throughout the world for over 30 years.
His camps stress maximum play, maximum learning, and
maximum fun! Mims guided Florida Tech to the 2012
Sunshine State Conference Championship, a 23-7 record
(only the sixth 20 win season in program history), and
the 2nd Round of the NCAA Tournament. In 2008, he led
the Panthers to a 20-8 season, a #11 National Ranking,
and the best start in FIT history (11 wins and 0 losses). In
December 2007, Mims was named the NCAA DII National
“Coach of the Month.” He has produced two 1st Team AllAmericans, one National Player of the Week, an Academic
All-American, and many All-Region and All-Conference
players. As a European professional head coach, Mims
coached three different clubs and led them all to National
Championship success. In England, he was named the
British Basketball League “Coach of the Year” twice and
National “Coach of the Month” five times. Mims was twice
chosen to coach in the prestigious BBL All-Star game and
scouted for the England National team. As a Head Coach
in the USA and Europe, Mims has seen his teams win over
500 games and collect seven National Championships.
He also serves as a regular commentator for the NBA
Finals on Sky Sports TV. In September 2010, Mims was
a guest speaker at the FIBA World Championships in
Istanbul, Turkey.
