Day Notes After clearing formalities upon arrival into Maun International Airport, board your shared charter flight for a short hop to Shinde Camp. Your guide will meet you at the airstrip and your adventure begins. Overnight: Shinde Camp View iBrochure Shinde, newly refurbish in 2015, is an intimate classic camp located on the edge of Shinde Lagoon. Nestled on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta, the area simply teems with animals and birdlife. The camps unique main area comprises a multi-tiered dining room and lounge which is set under canvas under the shade of ebony and mangosteen trees. Accommodation is generally twin share on comfortable three quarter beds, however double accommodation is available on request. The nature of the habitat means it is the perfect place to experience the diversity of species found within the Okavango Delta. The reserve covers more than 4871 square kilometres of pristine wilderness, and the varied terrain includes savannah, winding waterways, and thick forest. This diversity supports an incredibly wide spectrum of wildlife, ranging from large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, to the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, and lion, cheetah and packs of wild dog in the open grasslands. The birdlife is prolific and includes most of the 550 bird species recorded on the Botswana national bird list.
