2013 Rookie Team Registration
The Weatherstone Dolphins Swim Team is a Cobb County Summer Swim League team open to children ages 518 (as of May 31, 2013). However, any swimmer between the ages of 3 and 8 (as of May 31, 2013) who is willing
and able to swim, yet unable to independently swim the length of the pool AND/OR is age 5 or above but is not
yet ready or interested in the regular swim team, is eligible to join our Rookie Team.
There is no team swim suit for the Rookie Team. No special equipment is needed. Back floats are permitted.
Goggles are optional. This is an instructional, developmental, swim-lesson experience and is fun! The Rookie
Team has its own coaches who are experienced teenaged swimmers and lifeguards.
This group will practice from 8:30-9:00 AM Monday through Friday mornings beginning Wednesday May 29, 2013
until Friday June 21, 2013. Parents are required to stay at the pool during Rookie practices. Siblings not registered
as Rookies cannot swim, even in the baby pool, during this time as no lifeguard is on duty and the pool is closed
except for registered swimmers.
Rookie “Meets” (swimming the width of the pool in the shallow end with the help of coaches, swim packs, noodles,
as needed) each TUESDAY mornings in June during their regular practices. Ribbons will be awarded to all
swimmers after each race. Rookies do not participate in the regular swim team meets.
Our Rookie Team is invited to come and cheer on the Weatherstone Dolphins at all of our meets. This is a great
way to introduce your child to what a “real” summer meet is like. They are crazy and fun! The Weatherstone
Dolphins home meets are at the WSRC pool beginning at 6pm on June 10th and June 17th.
The Rookies will be honored at our End of the Year Banquet on Tuesday June 25 at 5pm at the WSRC pool.
registration FEE: $75 PER CHILD
There is a $10 non-WSRC member per family. (WSRC dues were due by May 1, 2013)
* A 20% sibling discount will be applied to a family’s total fees if they have more than one child registering

Parent/Guardian Permission and Waiver of Liability
I hereby certify that I have knowledge of the physical condition of my child/children

emotional condition that would limit my child/children from participating in this program. I give my consent and
permission for my child/children to participate on the Weatherstone Rookie Team for the 2013 season.
I further state that I shall not hold the Weatherstone Swim and Racquet Club, Inc. (WSRC), Weatherstone Swim
Team or any associated person responsible or liable for any accidents or injuries to my child while participating in
or being transferred to or from Rookie Team activities.
I also understand that by joining the Weatherstone Swim Team, only my child/children who are registered
Weatherstone Swim Team swimmer/s is/are permitted to use the Weatherstone Swim and Racquet Club, Inc. pool
ONLY during the set practice times. The Weatherstone Swim and Racquet Club, Inc. (including the pool and
surrounding grounds) is a private, members-only facility, and closed to the general public.
I also understand the Weatherstone Swim Team is a member of the Cobb County Summer Swim League and I will
abide by the rules of this organization.
I also understand that the Coach(es) shall have the authority to discipline my child and to suspend him/her from
Team activities if it should become necessary. Our Rookie Team coaches are not qualified to work with children
who have significant behavioral, emotional, or developmental disorders at this time. The Rookie Team coaches and
Weatherstone Swim Team coordinators have the right to ask a child to leave practice(s) if they are a significant
disruption to others on an on-going basis as this may pose a safety risk to other children.
I understand that e-mails, the Weatherstone Dolphins Swim Team Facebook page, the Weatherstone Dolphins
website, and text messages, will be used by the coordinators and coaches for communication with team families.
As a condition of placing my child(ren) on the Weatherstone Rookie Team, I agree to this policy and will abide by
