a R I S I N b o v e G 2-MOVE The Grimstead Range of Transfer & Repositioning Aids T he 2-Move is a lightweight transfer system designed to facilitate a supine lateral transfer. It is comprised of 2 parts: the inner core is a light, rigid, full-size board covered with a low friction material; and the tubular outer sheet which has a low friction inner surface. This allows the outer sheet to revolve around the inner core while transferring the client, making the transfer virtually effortless. The unique design of this system allows the board to be removed leaving the sheet underneath the client, which can be used to reposition them if needed. The 2-Move comes with a convenient carry handle and can be folded for easy storage. It is available in 2 widths with a shorter version for paediatric use. Available in 4 sizes: 40cm x 85cm/15 3/4” x 33 1/2” 50cm x 85cm/19 3/4” x 33 1/2” 40cm x 170cm/15 3/4” x 67” 50cm x 170cm/19 3/4” x 67” Repositioning Problems and 2-Move Solutions When carrying out a lateral transfer with a traditional transfer boar d, a client’s skin does not easily slide across the board. Using the 2-Mo ve, the low fr iction nylon cover allows the client to slide across the board with no damage to tissue. Many boards need to be lifted from one surface to another with the client on them causing strain to shoulder or back of the caregiver. With the 2-Move the caregivers gently push/ pull a sheet to slide them across without strain. Using a slide sheet alone will not bridge the gap betw een two surfaces. The 2-Move effectively bridges all gaps. The low static potential makes the 2-Move an ideal piece of equipment for the lateral transfers done in the operating theatres. General Guidelines 1. Using appropriate technique, gently roll the client 2. The client can be rolled onto their back. They are on their side. Then, the 2-Move and a draw/ transfer now on one half of the 2 –Move. sheet can be placed on the bed, aligned with the client’s spine. a R I S I N b o v e G 3. Bring the stretcher to the bed’s side. Lock the brakes. 4. Caregiver on one side places her open palms (do not grip) on the client’s hip and shoulder. The receiving caregiver is on the opposite side of the stretcher. 5. Using the draw/ transfer sheet the receiving caregiver pulls gently while the other pushes at the hip and shoulder to begin the move. The board and the client travel together to the new surface. 6. When the transfer is the 2-Move is removed. Important Make sure that the glide sheet is used with the label on the outside. If the sheet is inside out it will not slide. The 2-Move should never be left on the as it presents a slip hazard. The 2-Move is not a lifting device and should not be used as such. The 2-Mo ve does not contain latex. Cleaning Instructions For ive infection control, the removable cover can be machine washed at 95C/203F and tumble dried low - 40C/104F. They are also steam autocla vable – 130C/266F. It may be easily cleaned with Alcohol wipes/solution at 70% or with an approved disinfectant. Do not use fabric softeners or detergents with a bleach base. The 2-Move board can be wiped clean with warm soapy water and towel dried.
