How to create games using purpose games
This website can be used to create games for your own subject and class. Follow the
steps below in order to create your own games.
1. Firstly you need to follow this link http://www.purposegames.com/
2. On this website you need to register and create an account which is free.
a. Click on the register free link in the top right hand corner (circled above).
3. There are a number of games already created on the website on a variety of
topics so it may be worthwhile searching these first.
4. Using the menu bar at the top of the page you select the create tab (circled
above).
5. A drop down menu will give you 6 options
a. Text quiz
b. Image quiz
c. Matching game
d. Type-the-answer quiz
e. Multiple Choice quiz
f. Image quiz (shapes)
6. Select the quiz you want to create. You will get the following screen.
7. Give the quiz a name and select a category from the drop down menu (circled
above).
8. Enter the questions and answers in the spaces provided and click add row
(circled above).
9. Repeat step 7 until you have entered all the questions and click the save button
(circled above).
10. You can set a number of parameters for the game e.g. a time limit, by selecting
the game settings option (circled below). The following screen will appear.
11. You will be given a link to preview the game (circled below) which you can use
to test it.
12. If you are happy with the game click publish (circled above). It is now available
to play online.
13. You can edit the game as necessary from your own account dashboard.
a. Click on your account name in the top right hand corner of the screen
b. Select games (circled below)
c. Select edit (circled below)
14. You can use the link given to share the game with your pupils in whatever way
is common practice in your own school.
