The aim of the present work was to analyse the effects of different virus
infections on production and quality parameters of three different varieties
following a clonal selection process

Leaf Roll associated virus are the ones with more incidence in the three varieties. Callet is the variety with
more virus infection, but the values are very high in the three varieties

• In Callet the plants infected with two viruses
showed higher values of number of clusters, yield
and weight of 100 berries, but lower soluble acids
and total poliphenols.
• In Manto Negro, the plants infected with two
viruses tended to have lower values of yield, weight
of 100 berries and total acidity, but higher total
poliphenols.
• In Prensal, no differences were found for
production parameters. However, plants with two
viruses presented higher soluble acids and higher
total acidity.
The influence of virus infection on production and quality parameters
is very dependant on the variety studied and the intensity of infection
(one or more virus), but not on the concrete virus affecting the plants
