EC SHAMROCKS “IT’S ALL ABOUT THE KIDS” VOLUNTEER CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY In order to provide a safe and constructive environment for the players, parents, coaches, and other volunteers associated with Eau Claire Shamrocks, Inc. (hereinafter EC Shamrocks), EC Shamrocks has developed this volunteer conduct policy. Please carefully read and indicate by your signature below your agreement to abide by this policy when serving as a volunteer for the EC Shamrocks. 1. In performing services for EC Shamrocks, you shall be a volunteer of the organization. You shall not be considered to be a consultant, agent, partner, employee, or representative of EC Shamrocks. 2. You shall not have authority to assume or create any obligation on behalf of EC Shamrocks, and you shall not have the authority to represent yourself as an employee or agent of EC Shamrocks. 3. You shall agree to the following guidelines: a. You must be at least 18 years of age. b. You represent that you have never been convicted of a felony or any offense involving moral turpitude. c. You will conduct yourself in a courteous, respectful manner demonstrating behavior appropriate for a positive role model for youth, and will put the well-being of the players first, before winning. d. You will encourage good sportsmanship by the players during both practices and games. e. You will, where possible, avoid one-on-one situations with individual players. Meetings, discussions, and drills should be conducted in view of other adults and or/players. f. You will be alert to the appropriateness of any physical contact with players. While all physical contact is not prohibited, such as a congratulatory high-five, some forms of physical contact may be experienced by the players or seen by others as inappropriate. g. You will obtain parental consent to transport young players to and from practices and games. h. You will confine any discipline to that which is constructive and reflects high values. Corporal punishment and profanity are never permitted. i. You will ensure that no child is left alone without adult guidance or supervision at any time (such as waiting for his/her parents to pick him/her up after a practice or game). j. You will refrain from the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products at all practices and games. [Pick the date] Page 2 The aforementioned guidelines do not represent a comprehensive list. Other actions not listed above could result in suspension or dismissal as an EC Shamrocks’ volunteer.
