Legacy – James Kerr What’s the Book About? The 15 lessons in leadership that can be learned from the All Blacks set-up What did you learn from the book? The book is laid out clearly with focus on a specific element of the All Blacks set-up from looking at the behaviour of experienced players and their role supporting new members to the fold to the rules around every players leaving the shirt in a better place than it was when they got it. Kerr links the way the All Blacks work back to business practices and that helps you understand how you could apply it to your own teams. I found the ‘traditions’ that the All Blacks have very interesting as they were integrated into the teams ethos specifically and have been designed to bring the players together as New Zealanders not just players from a handful of club locations. Who do you think would benefit from reading this book? Coaches and managers of team sports, particularly those with squads that are selected from a number of places with limited time to get to know each other before competing.
