The Allegheny County Health Department inspected the football concession stand this past year. As part of the ACHD policy and code language, all school concession programs are not permitted to sell food that has been cooked/prepared at someone’s home. This policy will impact our profits moving forward. Laura is in contact with Congressman Tim Murphy’s office to get clarification on non-profit organization rights. A question was raised regarding the legality of purchasing food prepared at restaurants and then warmed and served at the concession stand. Laura is checking into this option. 4. MAC Tournament - Laura a. It is official; WA will host a 12 team tournament at the High School. In an effort to generate more program funds, Dave McBain is exploring the option to host a JV tournament as well. The issue at this time is staffing. Dawna Keeley will check with the National Honors Society Members and see if they are willing to support/work the tournaments. 5. MSA Sports Network – Laura a. MSA broadcasts local schools sporting events. There is a fee to participate in the program; however, we have received a donation to cover the cost to participate. Attack Machine - Coach Begor has met with the Athletic Director and has been given permission to purchase an “Attack Machine”. This piece of equipment is used to serve balls at various speeds, position, etc. Coach Begor believes it will enhance the training and development process of the players. Total cost of the machine is $3100. Since it was not budgeted, the school can only pick up $1635 of the cost. The WA Booster Committee has agreed to pay the $1435 balance.
