Notting Hill Housing Asset Management Post Assistant Surveyor Responsible to Professional Services Manager Date June 2012 Notting Hill Housing provides and manages high quality affordable housing for those in housing need. Job purpose As the Assistant Surveyor you will assist the Professional Services Manager in providing professional building consultancy services to in-house clients. You will develop, maintain and review: standard technical specifications and Employer’s Requirements, operating procedures, whole life cost plans. You will also undertake effective procurement to achieve excellent service and value for money, ensuring compliance with EU regulations and standing orders. You will co-ordinate annual inspection programmes. As the Assistant Surveyor you will liaise effectively with the development teams to ensure quality standards in new developments and to capture information on new acquisitions to support the Stock Investment Plan. Key tasks 1 Review and maintain standard technical specifications and Employer’s Requirements in consultation with client businesses, Development and Finan ce to deliver value for money. 2 Ensure technical specifications are aligned with life-cycle assumptions within the Stock Investment Plan and component accounting assumptions. 3 Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the Asset Management department which support good communication with clients and other teams. 4 Prepare annual stock condition survey programmes in consultation with the Planning and Performance team. 5 Prepare annual Fire Risk Assessment programmes in consultation with the Risk www.lovewhereyouwork.org.uk Notting Hill Housing Asset Management Key tasks and Compliance team. 6 Co-ordinate entry of survey and completion data to ensure it is accurate and timely to feed into performance reports and review and planning cycles. 7 Conduct sample checks on survey and completion data in order to verify the quality and accuracy of data being uploaded. 8 Ensure that effective procedures and systems are in place to deliver excellent and consistent service including the use of the Good Practice Guide and ensuring compliance through quality assurance processes. 9 Maintain a contract register. 10 Develop and review standard tender documentation. 11 Conduct procurement as directed by the Professional Services Manager. 12 Co-ordinate requests for EPCs from client businesses and prepare instructions for the Senior Building Surveyors. 13 Engage in the review of design and specification of new developments, reviewing appropriate documents for sign off at key stages. 14 Develop and review a template for capturing stock condition data on new developments and acquisitions and sign off data submissions at handover. 15 Develop and review a template for capturing whole life cost plans for new developments, advising the Planning and Performance Manager where this varies from standard assumptions. 16 Liaise effectively with Development to ensure that whole life cost and maintenance issues are actively considered when planning and developing new homes. 17 Support Senior Building Surveyors, Quantity Surveyor and Site Inspectors in preparation of reports and other duties. 18 Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role. www.lovewhereyouwork.org.uk Notting Hill Housing Asset Management How do you meet our requirements?
