Hot Shots League Information and Registration Form
All Hot Shots and Junior Development Squad players are invited to enter into the Hot
Shots League.
The League is the first official competition for young players and is run in a fun and
friendly environment. The program is supported by Tennis Australia and Tennis Victoria
and every student who joins the competition will receive an official ranking.
Tennis World has been involved in running a Hot Shots League Competition since term 4
2013 and supports this great initiative in both Orange Ball and Green Ball leagues.
Hot Shots League is played each Sunday, with Orange Ball played between 9.30am –
11.00am and Green Ball played between 11.00am – 12.30pm. All matches are played at
Tennis World Melbourne Park on the Rod Laver Arena Western, outdoor courts.
Match Information
Players are placed in mixed gender teams of 3 or 4 players, the league runs for up to 6
weeks and players compete in a round robin format. All players will play 1 singles and 2
doubles matches. Teams are allocated 2 courts and generally take between 60 – 70
minutes to complete the round.

Scoring
The score will be determinate by the ball level:
Orange Ball:
Matches are played first to 4 games or over a 20 minute period. Traditional tennis
scoring is used, however sudden death at deuce applies. If players are tied at 3 -3,
the next game will determine the winner. The team with the highest number of
sets will be the winner on the day, if both teams have the same number of sets,
the team with more games will be declared the winner. Serve could be done over or
under arm.
Green Ball:
Matches are played first to 6 games or over a 20 minute period. Traditional tennis
scoring is used, however sudden death at deuce applies. If players are tied at 5 -5,
the next game will determine the winner. The team with the highest number of
sets will be the winner on the day, if both teams have the same number of sets,
the team with more games will be declared the winner.
The Hot Shots League official competition and all results will be uploaded
onto the Tennis Victoria Website.
Parent Requirements
Each team has an elected team manager who will be responsible for:
 Ensuring a minimum of players for each weekend
 Organising the team roster/player schedules
 Pick up and drop off the completed score sheets before and after each
match
Each team should have two parent referees per match; they will help to develop a
fair competition between the teams. Each parent referee will be responsible for:
 Keeping and correcting the score if required
 Encouraging good sportsmanship
 Resolve any issues on court between players

CONSENT TO MEDICAL TREATMENT & MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION
I understand that tennis is a physical sport and that there is risk of injury involved in participating in the Activity. I
authorise any representative of Tennis Australia to use and disclose the medical information provided on this Consent
Form to obtain any medical assistance, treatment and transport for my child, as deemed reasonably necessary. I consent
to any such medical treatment and/or transportation. I acknowledge and agree that I will be responsible for any costs
associated with any such medical treatment and/or transportation.
CONSENT TO USE IMAGE
In consideration of my child participating in the Activity, I consent to Tennis Australia, its Member Associations and its
government commercial partners taking my child’s image while he or she is participating in the Activity. I agree that any
such photographs, electronic images, sound recording or video footage may be used by Tennis Australia, its Member
Associations and its government and commercial partners, in resources and reports, or promotional, advertising or
marketing materials, without any further notice or payment.
RELEASE AND INDEMNITY
In consideration of my child participating in the Activity, to the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and agree to,
indemnify, defend and hold harmless Tennis Australia, and its directors, employees, officers, volunteers, servants and
agents from and against any injury, loss, damage actions, proceedings, claims, demands, expenses (including legal
expenses), damages and liabilities howsoever arising from or incurred as a result of or in connection with my child’s
participation in the Activity.
PRIVACY STATEMENT
Tennis Australia is committed to protecting the privacy of all participants. The information requested on this Consent
Form is required to organise and administer the Activity. I understand that my child’s personal information can be
accessed and updated by contacting Tennis Australia and that except where consent has been obtained, or as permitted
or required by law, my child’s personal information will not be disclosed to third parties.
WARNING UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
WARNING: You acknowledge that you engage in the Activity at your own risk. If you participate in the Activity your
rights to sue the supplier under the Australian Consumer Law in the event you are killed or injured because the Activity
was not supplied with due care and skill or was not reasonably fit for its purpose, are excluded, restricted or modified in
the way set out in or on this form.
EXCLUSION OF GUARANTEES: The guarantees relating to the supply of services contained in Subdivision B of Division 1
of Part 3-2 of the Australian Consumer Law are hereby expressly excluded in respect of the provision of recreational
services.
NOTE: The change to your rights, as set out in or on this notice, does not apply if your death or injury is caused by
reckless conduct on the supplier’s part. “Reckless conduct” is defined in section 139A of the Competition and Consumer
Act 2010.
