SUMMER LEAGUE BASEBALL GAMES BEGIN JUNE 24th - Summer Recreational Baseball - Open to Boys & Girls ages 5 to 12 yrs. th old. League Age for all boys is determined by the age they were on April 30 , 2013 and League Age for st girls CP – AA/AAA is determined by the age they were on Dec. 31 , 2012. Currently we are setting up 3 co-ed Divisions: Coach Pitch Minors for 5/6 yr olds Coach Pitch Majors /Modified A-ball for 7/8 yr. olds AA/AAA for the 9 - 12 yr. olds Games are kept on a Monday thru Thursday schedule (to the best of our ability),and teams will play 8 games beginning June 24th – typically 2 games per week. The number of teams for summer league will be determined by the number of players, coaches and managers who volunteer to participate. Parents - In order for Summer Rec Baseball to be successful, Coaches and Asst. Coaches are needed. If you’ve thought about coaching before but weren’t quite sure, this is good low-key way to have fun this summer without a long-term commitment. Currently we need 3 Coach Pitch Minors Coaches, and 1 more Coach Pitch Majors/A-Ball Coach. Girls are strongly encouraged to play, however the teams will be co-ed unless enough girls sign up to form a team. Once team assignments are finished, coaches will be notified so they can contact their new team players. PARENTS: Please do not call or email before June 21st to ask which team your player is assigned to - you will be notified by your player's coach when the team assignments are finished. There will be one week of practice time available to coaches from June 17th - June 24th but some coaches will not schedule any Summer practices except a Meet & Greet. Go ahead and contact the league if you haven't heard from your player's coach by June 21st. REGISTRATION FEES: Coach Pitch Minors - Ages 5 - 6: $45.00 Coach Pitch Majors / Modified A-ball - Ages 7 -8: $45.00 AA/AAA Baseball - Ages 9 - 12: $65.00 Online registrations will incur a small additional software fee from the owner of the database. There are no $25 sweat equity volunteer discounts associated with the summer season. Space is limited! Don't delay, sign-up as soon! Extended Season game T-shirts will be provided (players get to keep) – players provide their own mitt, hat, pants, cleats, etc. Coaches will usually specify gray, white or black pants when they call to introduce themselves. Games will be scheduled on Monday thru Thursday evenings, beginning at 6:00 p.m., and will be played at local school fields. Although we try not to schedule games on Friday's during Summer League, sometimes it has to be done. Due to rental fees at Heritage ($60 for ea. 2 hr. daylight game and $80 for ea. 2 hr. evening games w/lights), field rentals aren't used for Summer League. Buddy or Coach requests can be made in the Comment Box and while we make every effort to honor requests, keeping teams competitive is necessary along with the number of players assigned to each team. Umpires will be used for the AA/AAA divisions only. Umpires for the Coach Pitch/Modified A-Ball games will be assisted by parent volunteers as this is considered an Instructional Division. Summer League is based on a low key instructional time for the kids and a learning time for many new coaches, therefore OFFICIAL GAME SCORING is not done during Summer League.
