Exercise 17: Next Steps What experienced institutions can

Exercise 17: Next Steps
Reinvigorate your efforts with more
ambitious Action Projects
• Formulate and declare new AQIP Action
Projects that will implement your strategies
– Action Projects to implement two Category
Improvement Campaigns
– Action Projects to implement your Culture and
Infrastructure Improvement Campaign
Stimulate broader and deeper
involvement with Action Projects
• AQIP has improved its Action Project Directory
allowing institutions to list more projects
– Allows you to "version" Action Projects to keep
them up-to-date
• Capture the accomplishments of Action Projects in
your Systems Portfolio (the Improvement #1 item in
each Category provides a specific place for this)
Analyze information to identify your
best improvement opportunities:
– Systems Portfolio Feedback and other reports
– Your strategic or other plans
– Board, state, and system imperatives
– Operational experience and data
– Changed constraints and opportunities
The #2 Improvement item in each Category asks about
your system for driving improvement.
Evaluate and invigorate your quality
program or infrastructure
• Determine whether your quality program is
structured
• to drive your projects successfully,
• integrate with other planning and prioritization
processes,
• promote continuing development of a quality culture,
and
• assure its continuation, vitality, and growth
• Create (and share with AQIP the URL) of an
internet page explaining your quality program —
to insiders and outsiders
Will be mailed to your
institution's AQIP
Liaison
