Greetings from Carbondale Tourism, host of the Carbondale Eclipse Marketplace in downtown
Carbondale. We appreciate your interest in our total eclipse activities. All vendors wishing to sell at the
Eclipse Marketplace must apply and be approved to participate as a vendor.
Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee you a space in the marketplace. All vendor
applications will be reviewed and carefully considered, as space is limited to this unique event. After
review, applicants will be notified by phone or email as to the status of their application within two
weeks. Incomplete applications will not be considered, so please ensure to review the attached checklist.
Marketplace hours will be on Saturday and Sunday from 11a.m-8p.m and Monday from 8a.m-3p.m. The
marketplace will be located in the parking lot of First Mid Illinois Bank, 815 S. University Ave in downtown
Carbondale. Set-up for the marketplace begins at 7am Saturday, August 19th with tear down no earlier
then 3:00pm on Monday, August 21, 2017. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2017.
Things to consider when submitting your application:





Vendor space is limited, so apply early
Proof of retail business registration with the State of Illinois
Proof of general liability insurance coverage
Alcohol sales are not allowed in the marketplace by vendors
Water and electrical hook-ups are limited

VENDOR RATES
Vendor Rates are on a sliding scale based on reported sales. Each vending location is a 15x15 area with
one additional space for vehicle parking in an adjacent parking lot. Vendors requiring larger spaces will
need to reserve multiple spaces at the pricing listed below.

Daily Fee:
All vendors are responsible to submit a inventory product listing or menu with prices prior to set-up in the
marketplace. It is the law that vendors report and submit sales tax for products sold in the marketplace.
RENTALS, ELECTRICITY, AND WATER
The marketplace has several tents, tables, and chairs available for those looking to rent:
10x10 Tent = $125 per day, tie-downs included
8ft table w/2 chairs= $35 per day
Electricity and water hook-ups are charged per day to those vendors requesting them:
Electricity hook-up = $125 per day for 20 amp, additional charge for amp increase
* Electrical Material (extension cords, power strips, etc.) are not provided
Water hook-up = $25 per day
* Water hoses are not provided
INSURANCE INFORMATION
All vendors must provide proof of liability insurance and Illinois business registration prior to vending at
the marketplace. Policy minimum is $300,000 for non-food, $1,000,000 for food.

abide by the marketplace policies may result in the loss of vendor privileges. As a participant in the
Carbondale Eclipse Marketplace, I also agree to assume the full risk of all damages and or injuries that

federal rules.
