Write the Best Movie!
4 The player who has most recently seen a movie in the
theater is the first Producer. The Producer takes the timer.
All other players are Writers for the first round. The game is
ready to begin!
Playing the Game
In each round, the Producer is looking for a certain type
of film for the studio. Writers create titles by flipping and
rotating the Movie Title cards in their hands to create
entertaining titles that are presented one at a time to the
Producer. The following section explains the steps in each
game round:
With the screenwriters on strike, Hollywood’s top producers
are searching for anything to bring in some money and
keep their studios running. Now is the time to pitch the title
of your best work and hope that attracts enough attention to
get the movie made. Fortunately, your odds are good since 1 Brainstorming – Writers bring their hands up to 7 cards.

The Pitch
During this step, all Writers take turns drawing Movie Title
cards to bring their hands up to 7 cards beginning with the
Writer on the left of the Producer and proceeding clockwise.
When the timer has run out, the Producer yells “Cut!” and
the Writers must set down all their cards. Beginning with the
Writer to the left of the Producer, each Writer in turn reads
out the title of the movie they want to create.
Tip: The Writer should immediately look at the word
choices on both sides of the cards in order to begin creating
potential word combinations.
Demands of the Studio
The Producer draws a Studio Demand card from the center
of the table and reads it aloud. The card is then placed face
up in the center of the table for all Writers to see. All Writers
can examine this card at any time.
Deadline

Title Creation
End of the Game
Movie titles can contain any number of “free words” from
the Reference card that each Writer has.
The game ends when any player earns five points.
The Writer can use different forms of the words on the
Movie Title cards. For instance, if the word “Attack” is on the
card, the Writer can choose to use the word “Attacker” or
“Attacking” or “Attacked” instead.
You may only use one word per card, but can use as
many cards from your hand as you like. The cards should be
placed in an overlapping column so it is clear what title is
going to be used.
