INTRODUCTION
•
General objective:
 The purpose of these exercises is to lead you through most of the menus, buttons
and functions needed for operating the system in a safe way
 Note that some functions are not available in the simulator, but the menus will be
present to show you how to do the operations
•
The demonstration system configuration
– Artemis MKIV mobile station installed onboard of a DP vessel
– Artemis MKIV fix station installed on a platform or ashore.

– Start the computer
• Select the Artemis simulator icon from the desktop
• The following menu apears on the desktop
• Go to set-up
• Select simulation parameters
• Select:
MK 4 fix station
• Exit set-up

Select fix (this opens the control panel of the fix station)
Press on operating panel the “Menu” button
Press 2 (modify)
Press 1 (frq/addr)
Press 1 (frequency pair)
Toggle (using one of the numeric keys) to frq. Pair “0”→ enter
(freq. is counting to 9230MHZ)
Press del
Select 2 (address codes)
Press 13 → enter
Press “Menu” → 1

Exercise 2
Objective: Familiarisation with the Artemis software and
menu structure.
Situation: Vessel is positioning on DP outside 500m
exclusion zone and is setting up the artemis system.
The fix station is set up on the platform using freguency
pair 2 and address 16
