utility fees collected by the City of Burnaby are
collected on behalf of Metro Vancouver to cover
water and sanitary sewerage costs.

2017 WATER AND SEWER RATES
Rates are reviewed annually to ensure that the
City can continue to provide quality water and
sewer services. City Council approved a 1.0%
increase in water rates and a 1.0% increase in
sanitary sewer rates for 2017.
Everyone is eligible to receive the 5% discount
if the utility charges and garbage disposal fees
are paid by March 15, whether or not you have
received a bill.
Payments received after March 15 will not be
eligible for the discount. Unpaid charges will
be added to 2017 property taxes and will be
subject to the same penalties as property taxes.
Property taxes are due July 5, 2017.

RESIDENTIAL TYPE
A 5% discount will be applied if paid by March 15, 2017.
Properties with secondary suites are subject to
supplementary flat water and sewer charges, equal to
50% of the rate for single family homes. If you have
questions about the application of this charge to your
