June 2nd Birthday Celebration – Guests will arrive at 3pm and can join in playing games, help make a birthday cake, enjoy a wonderful dinner and help celebrate
all of the June birthday’s. Pick up is at 9pm.
June 3rd Picnic in the Park – Join us for an evening at the park! Guests will arrive at the Respite Home at 3pm and help prepare a picnic dinner for Rogers –
Lakewood park. We will have dinner, play games and take walks. Pick-up time from Respite is at 9pm.
June 5th Respite Night on the Town – Last summer, the Valparaiso Parks department hosted fun events at Central Park Plaza that got started with a dance party
in Central Park. They’re doing it again and we want to be there! Join respite for a fun night on the town starting with dancing in the park to live music, then we’ll hit
a restaurant downtown of your choosing. We’ll walk the streets and check out some shops before heading back to respite for pick up time at 9pm. Drop off is at 3.
June 7th Wacky Wii Wars - Guests will arrive at the Respite Home at 3pm. Guests will participate in a variety of Wii games of their choice including: Guitar Hero,
Bowling, Wii Sports Dinner will be provided and pick up is at 9pm.
June 9th Healthy Choice Cooking Class - Guests will arrive at 3pm. All ingredients will be provided by the Respite Home. Staff will help our guests learn how to
prepare healthy snacks to enjoy during the summer. Dinner will be provided and pick up will be at 9pm.
June 10th Quaker Steak and Lube Car Night – Come out with Respite and enjoy food, live music, and cool cars and motorcycles at Quaker, Steak and Lube in
Portage. Drop off is at 3pm. Respite will transport everyone there, where we can enjoy the festivities and eat some wings. Then well come back to Respite in
time for pick up at 9pm.
June 12th – 14th Finally Summer Fun Camp – Guests can be dropped off at 3pm. It’s finally summer! We’ll celebrate with a cook out and pool party. If it’s not hot
enough to swim, we’ll go explore some of our local parks to see what kind of fun we can dig up. On Saturday, we’ll take a trip out to the Michigan City Zoo, so bring
a little spending money to get in! We’ll pack a picnic lunch to take with us. Pick up is at 3pm Sunday.
June 15th Bonfire and S’mores – Guests will arrive at the Respite Home at 3pm to enjoy relaxing by the bonfire in our backyard and roasting marshmallows for
S‘mores. Dinner will be provided and pick-up from the Respite home is at 9pm.
June 17th Inman’s Bowling Night - Guests will arrive at the Respite Home at 3pm where they will be transported to Inman’s bowling alley. Please bring spending
money for games, shoes and dinner at the bowling alley. Pick up from the Respite Home at 9pm.
June 19th Zao Island Golf/Arcade Night – Guests will arrive at 3pm and be transported to Zao Island where they can enjoy an evening of miniature golf and
arcade games. Guests can eat at the restaurant Coladas. Be sure to bring some spending money. Pick up at the Respite Home at 9pm.
June 23rd Movie in the Park – Valparaiso Parks Department is hosting movies in the park on Tuesdays in June. These are family friendly flicks! Drop off is at
3pm, we’ll hang around the house for a bit, eat an early dinner, then pack some snacks and head to Central Park Plaza in downtown Valpo where we’ll spread out
blankets and get comfortable. The movie starts at dusk, so our pick up time is later at 10 at the Respite House.
June 26th-28th Under the Sea Camp – It’s getting hot outside, so let’s go Under the Sea with Respite! We’ll make use of our pool with fun underwater games!
We’ll do arts and crafts that feature our favorite sea life. We’ll eat some interesting sea-themed meals, and we’ll top it all off with a trip to the beach to collect the
things we find there as well as relax and have fun! Respite has plenty of sunscreen and will go to the beach with lifeguards, safety first. Call today to reserve your

July 1st Fireworks – Join Respite when we go out to the Indiana Dunes State Park for early fireworks to celebrate our independence. Drop is at 3, pick up is at 10. Dinner will be
provided.
July 3rd Zao Island Golf/Arcade Night – Guests will arrive at 3pm and be transported to Zao Island where they can enjoy an evening of miniature golf and arcade games. Guests

July 7th Movies in the Park – The Porter County Parks department is putting on free movies in the summer! It’s a late night because they don’t start until dusk, and we want to be
sure to see the whole thing. Dinner will be provided at the house before we take off for downtown Valpo’s Central Park Plaza. Drop off is 3pm, pick up is at 10:30pm.
July 8th Inman’s Bowling Night – Guests will arrive at the Respite Home at 3pm where they will be transported to Inman’s bowling alley. Please bring spending money for games,
shoes and dinner at the bowling alley. Pick up from the Respite Home at 9pm.
July 10th-12th Space Camp – Space Camp is out of this world! Come join us as we blast off into exploration of the stars and planets at the Challenger Learning Center in Hammond
guests will get to attend a night sky viewing tutorial, feature planetarium presentation and laser show, and we got a discount so it’s only $5! Come do crafts and spot constellations in
a scavenger hunt in the sky! Drop off is Friday, July 10th, at 3pm. Pick up is Sunday, July 12th at 3. RSVP, ASAP so we can save you a spot on the shuttle.
July 14th Healthy Choices Cooking Class - Guests will arrive at 3pm. All ingredients will be provided by the Respite Home. Staff will help our guests learn how to prepare healthy
snacks to enjoy. Dinner will be provided and pick up will be at 9pm
July 16th Respite Ladies Night – This night’s activities are for you, ladies. Look your best and enjoy some pampering with a manicure, pedicure, hair style and makeup! Then sit
down and watch your favorite romantic comedy. Feel free to bring your favorite magazine to share. Dinner will be provided. Drop off is at 3pm, pick up at 9pm.
July 17th Pool Party – Come make a splash at our pool party! We are having two parties, one for those of us that don’t work on Fridays, and one for those of us that do, and want to
relax and have fun after work. We will either fire up the grill, or have a picnic lunch or dinner, poolside! We have all kinds of pool toys and games to share. We also have plenty of
sunscreen and supervision, Safety first! The first party is from 9am-2pm, the second is from 3pm-8pm.

birthdays. Pick up is at 9pm.

July 24th – 26th Medieval Camp – Hear ye, hear ye! The royal court of Castle Respite is lowering the drawbridge and welcoming one and all to their keep for a medieval weekend!
Join us for a stay full of festivity, food, and fun! Don your own handmade knight’s helmet and armor, equipped with your own trusty sword! Show off your coat of arms on a hand
crafted shield as you test your chivalry in our knights’ tournament and put your skills to the test! The royal court needs your RSVP post haste, so call upon the squires at Castle
Respite to reserve your seat on the throne. Drop off will be at 3pm, July 24 th at Respite. Pick up will be at 3pm, July 26th at the Respite House.
July 28th Bonfire and S’mores – Guests will arrive at the Respite House at 3pm to relax by the campfire in our backyard and toast marshmallows for s’mores! We’ll tell campfire
stories, sing songs, and have an overall good time. Pick up is at 9pm.
July 31st Pool Party – Come make a splash at our pool party! We are having two parties, one for those of us that don’t work on Fridays, and one for those of us that do, and want to
relax and have fun after work. We will either fire up the grill, or have a picnic lunch or dinner, poolside! We have all kinds of pool toys and games to share. We also have plenty of

August 8th-10th, Respite Dude Ranch- Yee-haw, ya’ll! It’s time to put on your best bib and tucker and mosey on over to the Respite Dude Ranch! Join us over here at the
Respite House fer a good time! It’ll be dern near impossible to be a stick in the mud this weekend! Test yer aim at our squirt gun shoot out or pin on your sheriff badge to
lasso the bandit and lock him up in our cardboard cell or stockade! Make yer own horse and ride off into the sunset like a true blue cowboy. We need your RSVP quick so
hoot ‘n hollar at us cowpokes over here at Respite to get your spot on the saddle this weekend! Drop off will be at 3pm, August 8th at the Respite House. Pick up will be at
3pm, August 10th at the Respite House.

expedition! Put on your best safari wear, grab your Respite pith helmet, and get ready for a zoo-per weekend! Grab some binoculars and get into the swing of things in our
animal scavenger hunt at the Michigan City Zoo! Take a dip in our watering hole and play a game of pin the trunk on the elephant – no cheetahs allowed! Grab a vine and
swing on by to become king of the jungle this weekend! We need your RSVP quick so no monkey business please or we’ll go bananas! Drop off will be at 3pm, August
21st at the Respite House. Pick up will be at 3pm, August 23rd at Respite. (Be sure to send $3.50 for zoo admission)
