(PM) *ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES >Complete. To be displayed on competition area. (PM) *GOLF RULES (BASIC) >Members are asked to familiarise themselves with the basic rules of golf. Booklets are on the communication table in the clubhouse. (PM) >A letter was sent to The English Golf Union ref course conditions prior to the 2016 season for clarity of rules. Reading the content of the reply, then publicise to members. (JD) >All handicap/competition committee to do the RSA level 1 competition ref rules of golf on line. The link for this is http://rulesacademy.randa.org/the-rules/revision/ (All) >Publish local golf rules on website and display in locker room. (PM) >Review the local rules at the next meeting. (PM) *STARTING AND CLOSING COMPETITIONS >Each handicap/competition committee member to be shown how this is done and competitions are closed in a timely manner. John Twissell and Simon Lucas are the main people for this. Cards need to input by players before 10pm on the competition day. (PM) >BRS system will be managed by PM and the office. >Handicap master will be managed by HC and the office. *2016 KNOCKOUT COMPETITIONS >It is the responsibility of the top person in each round of the competition sheet to contact their opponent giving three dates/times to be agreed in a timely manner to complete the game. (JD) >Extensions will only be granted in exceptional circumstances. (JD) >Prize money for competitions are displayed in the locker room (PM) >All finals will be played in 2016. (PM) *2016 COMPETITION COSTS AND 2 ROUND COMPETION FORMATS >Competition costs will be the same has 2015. (PM) >Charity Cup Qualifiers. All male individual board competitions will be used along with some Saturday competitions and the first Wednesday of each month midweek medals. These will be publicised on the new web page. (PM) >Midweek medals. Four balls will be allowed in this competition all day. The reason being P& D play on Wednesdays and it will give more members the opportunity to play after the P & D with the limited tee times available before it goes dark. (PM) >Encourage more members to enter competitions on Saturdays and Wednesdays. (Derek Watters, Communication/Marketing Director) >A new competition to be introduced in the memory of deceased members from the previous and current season. Agreed by Directors. (PM) >A new board competition to be introduced for all male members that win any singles competition to qualify for during the season including any singles knock outs. This will be max h/cap 18. Agreed by Directors. (PM) >Trophies to be obtained. (DN) *PRIZE MONEY >This is displayed in the locker room. (PM) *HANDICAPS >Please can all new members without a handicap hand three cards into either the Pro shop or Secretary’s office so the committee can issue you with handicaps. >To keep your handicap active it is the responsibility of your own to play at least 3 competitions per season. >Handicap changes made at the review under Congu unified handicap system 2016-2018 clause 23B on general play. C Alker 10, R Lambert 9 & C McAlear 12. >C McAlear played in the Captains 2 round competition and tied for 1st place but unfortunately hadn’t played in 3 previous competitions so couldn’t win the event, however the committee have decided to present a prize for his achievement in the competition to be presented on Presentation night. (PM) *PRESENTATION NIGHT >All previous prizes have now been paid to members. (PM) >Directors want all sections to be presented on the presentation night in 2016. Mick Blanch to contact Seniors about this. (MB) *JUNIOR SECTION >Currently we have 17 junior members. Des Newsham is the new Junior Organiser being given assistance from John Twissell, Percy Gregson and myself, Phil Mason. >We currently have no junior organiser. Des Newsham resigned from the post. We are looking for a replacement. >Send email to members asking for a junior organiser volunteer. (PM) > The 2016 Junior Captain is Jack Gregson. Good luck and well done Jack. *WINTER LEAGUES >The Handicap/Competition committee are not involved with the leagues apart from individual volunteers. The organisers are :- Saturday morning, Frank Lawrence, Saturday afternoon, Joe Davis & Sunday morning Ian Parkinson. If any member has any question reference rules or hole indexes the question should be asked to these individuals. *2016 GOLF COMPETITION DIARY EVENTS >The 2016 Fishwick Hall Golf Club competition diary is now on the website *BRS (BOOKING ONLINE SYSTEM) >The new booking online system will go live 30th March. All members will be sent emails with log on details. If you don’t receive one please contact the secretary. We may not have your correct email address. *SUGGESTIONS >All members’ suggestions, feedback and concerns with reference to handicaps and competitions are welcome, contrary to belief! Besides speaking, texting, emailing, Facebook etc. there is a suggestion book situated on the communication table in the clubhouse that can also be used. >Suggestions being reviewed by committee and Directors :-Review the course for winter 2016. Ref tees, greens placement 2015.
