Students Win First Place at Regional Cheerleading Championships

Students Win First Place at Regional Cheerleading
Championships
Congratulations to Emily Rackley (Year 7) and Jessica Smith (Year 8) who are part
of Kick Twist, a cheerleading squad based in Woodley. The Kick Twist team
consists of 14 girls aged 6-13 years old, and Emily and Jessica are two of the
talented athletes that make up the team.
The girls attended the regional championships in Guildford on Saturday 31st
January 2015. After a tough competition, the girls and the team earned 1st place
and have qualified to compete nationally.
The team was awarded with a medal each and the International Cheerleading
Coalition trophy for their hard work. The International Cheerleading Coalition
(founded in 2007) is a UK based cheer and dance company which works alongside
the UK cheer and dance community.
The Kick Twist coach, Kelsey Hudson, contacted the school to share the good
news. She said she was extremely proud of the team.
This is an impressive achievement and we wish Emily and Jessica the best of luck
when they go on to compete nationally.
