In Bounds Clear Change of Possession

In Bounds Clear
Change of Possession
If there is a change of possession, either a shot or an infraction, the
defense wants to immediately restart the ball. The Long Pole makes his
way to the box while looking out as an option for a clear. If that is not
there, exchanges for M2 coming in.
Figure 1
In Bounds Clear
Option 1
D3 passes to D2 in the middle and D2 carries ball up field looking for
any of the middies breaking open. D2 needs to make sure that a middie
stays back, usually the far side middie, M1, before crossing half field.
Figure 2

Option 2
If a pass to D2 is not there, D3 passes cross field to D1. D2 immediately
runs out to be replaced by a middie.
D1 carries ball up while looking for open middies. In this case D1
passes to M2.
Figure 3

Option 2 Continued
M2 carries the ball over and looks to get the ball to A3 behind the goal.
M1, the far side middie, needs to stay back to avoid going offsides.
Once the ball gets to X, A3 needs to immediately attack GLE and look
for middies cutting or slides from the defense.

Off of Save
After the goalie makes a save, the Long Pole makes his way to the box
while looking out as an option for a clear. If that is not there, exchanges
for M3 coming in. D2 and D1 Banana run to GLE to spread out the ride,
while M1 and M2 break opposite the box.

Off of Save Part 2
D3 also heads to the box to be replaced with middie. Once the ball is
brought up, the far side middie, M2, must stay back to avoid being
offsides. Once the transition settles, A1 should be at X ready to receive
the pass and attack the goal.
