Chairmans Support Pack

The Chairman’s
Challenge
Squad Support Pack
Your squad has been set a challenge that by the end of the 2016/17 season
you will have come together as a team and raised £100 or more. You must
devise a plan that uses all of the players in the squad and enlists the support of
Parents. The idea is not only to raise some money for the club but to bring the
players, coaches and parents together in activities outside football. By doing
this challenge we also hope to develop and encourage life skills such as
communication, planning, organisation, team work, hard work, and some of
the other themes of the Moors Youth Football Club Charter.
This information pack is designed to get the most out of your endeavour and to
help you succeed in completing the challenge.
There are also some prizes to win, and these will be announced on
Presentation day at the end of the season.
The pack includes a letter from the chairman, some support plans, where to go
to get further help along with some planning and reporting tools.
The very Best of luck.
A letter from the Chairman.
Dear Member of Moors Youth Football Club.
This will be my last season as your chairman and I would like to end my time as your chairman by
raising some money for good causes both within the club and the community we live in. I have put
together some plans for challenges events and fundraising that are designed to involve the different
parts of the club. Players, Managers, Committee Parents supporters and sponsors. It also visits some
of the areas we set up in the club charter back in 2012. Areas which I think are of great significance
not only in making Moors Youth the club we all know and love but in its ability to develop young
players both in their game but also just as importantly in their life skills.
It has been a pleasure to have served the club both as Secretary and as chairman, I know very well
what the club has to offer the youth in our town, how well it is received and what difference it can
make in people’s lives. The club will continue to grow and to flourish as there are many great people
that make up its fabric and also now enjoys much support and respect from the wider community.
Much of this has been earned over the years by our players and their parents.
What I have set is a challenge for each of the current thirteen squads to raise £100 or more by the end
of the season. The challenge is not about ringing up a sponsor and have them donate the funds but by
involving all the players, the coaches and as many parents and supporters as they can. This will help
develop team work, communication, commitment, as well as community cohesion, acceptance as well
as the many other positive life skills that can be incorporated. The money in itself is not the important
thing although rest assured it will be put to good use, what is important is what our players will achieve
by coming together and working as one to achieve their goals.
So lets us support them in their endeavour and allow them to gain these vital and character building
experiences, let them brain storm, come up with, plan and carry through their ideas into achieving
success.
I do wish everyone the best, and I know the players and their squads will rise to the occasion, I look
forward to sharing their experiences at our annual presentation day at the end of the season.
Paul Hunt.
