Point Cap Sam Zambri POINT CAP Our League is based on a “Point Cap” system. Players are worth as many points they have accumulated the previous year. (Minimum of 25pts) 1- At the draft each team shall not exceed the 1200 POINT CAP for a 24 man roster. 5 centers, 5 left wing, 5 right wing, 7 defensemen, 2 goalies. You MUST stay under this point cap during the season even when trading, signing free agents and using IR spots. You are responsible (by point cap) for every player showing on your roster. Also, all teams are also responsible to keep a Minimum Cap of 1000pts in order to stay competitive. 2- POINT CAPS for a player are determined by the points they got the year before your current season. (Last year’s stats). They will all be listed in the player stats on Yahoo! by clicking on the player.. Players Point Caps are only determined by their total points with a minimum 25 pts. and Goalie Point Caps are determined by their Wins x2 + SO x2 with a minimum of 25 pts. (ex. 20wins and 2so = 44 Point Cap). Rookies (1st year on Yahoo!) are worth 25 points. NOTE: League Point caps may rise or fall each new season according to the market value of the league! A COPY of all the players POINT CAPS will be provided before Draft Day! Scoring & Positions Sam Zambri PLAYER SCORING Scoring will be divided into the following categories 1. Player points (1 point), Special teams player points (1/4 point), Goalies points (win 2pts, SO 2pts) BENCH PLAYERS There are no Bench Players. GOALTENDING SCORING 2 Goalies will be on your rosters and both will be active per team every night . Goalie Point Caps are determined by their Wins x2 + SO x2. (ex. 25wins and 2 SO = 54 Point Cap). Goalies points (win 2 pts and SO 2pts) POSITION REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY 1- Position requirements are - 5 centers, 5 left wing, 5 right wing, 7 defensemen, and 2 goalies. 2- At the draft, position eligibility will be determined by Yahoo’s! team roster listings, nothing else. 3- Changes of positions and multiple positions will be determined by Yahoo! after the season starts. (Be aware that this may change by Yahoo! during the season). Draft & Protection Sam Zambri THE DRAFT Yearly Roster Protection & Eligibility 1- All teams must be present or represented at the draft which usually takes place the last weekend of September in a pre arranged location and date assigned by the commissioner. In the event that a team is not present, a Draft Sheet must be sent to the Commissioner to draft with, if that is not present, then their roster will be completed after the draft immediately by the Manager from the remaining unsigned players . 2- The order of nominating players for drafting will coincide with the reverse order of the previous year’s standings. Each team will be allowed as much time as needed for drafting. Position requirements must be maintained throughout the course of the draft and no team may exceed their point cap of 1200 cap points. 3- If you reach your cap during the draft before your team is complete, you must wait until EVRYONE has finished drafting to adjust your team with remaining players. 4- All drafted players must be officially drafted by an NHL Team in order to be eligible. 5- You will be able to slot eligible Rookies in during the Draft in case you want to enter them into your Regular Roster. You MUST let the Commissioner know this as it’s being done so it is confirmed on the Spreadsheet at the Draft. Also, once the rookie is inserted in the Regular Roster, he may not be used as a Rookie again! Injured Reserve & Empty Spots Sam Zambri INJURED RESERVE 1- A maximum of 4 players are allowed on the injured reserve position at any one time. Also, any extra players that you acquire in a trade or free agent signings are eligible to go to the Reserve. 2- When a player is on Injured Reserve, his cap points are still accounted for. So if you pick up any free agents on IR (or NA) in the meantime, you still must deal with the cap. You are capped for everyone on your roster, healthy, injured or NA. (Like real life NHL) 3- Note: When you have a healthy player on reserve (for the injured position) you will be unable to sign a free agent, but are compelled to use that reserved player or release him.. All Players who return off IR must be replaced on your team or released within 24 hours! Next Day. Also, all IR players must be placed on the IR within 24 hours. (Only exception is if there are no cap points available. In this case they may be left on your roster) EMPTY SPOTS 1- Empty spots on your roster are NOT permitted in ANY position. All positions on your rosters must have a player at all times and you must stay under the cap doing so. 2- If any manager leaves an Empty spot for a day’s length, a warning is issued and a Freeze will be put on their team. Free Agents, Waivers & Outright Release Sam Zambri FREE AGENTS All N.H.L. players that are currently playing on N.H.L. teams that remained unsigned after the draft are eligible free agents. The acquiring of these Free Agents will begin at a specific time arranged by the Commissioner at the start of the regular season. All free agent signings are subject to approval by the commission. No off season Free agent signings permitted. Limited yearly transaction limits apply. WAIVERS A waiver delay will be set before the player will be available for free agency. Waiver priority will be in effect during the season. Any player released from your team will be subject to waivers. If he is not claimed, he will be a free agent. When two or more teams attempt to claim the player while on the waiver period (usually 24hrs), the waiver priority will be in effect. OUTRIGHT PLAYER RELEASE ANY player on the active roster may be released provided that his position can be filled. A player may be released off of your squad at any time. You may release any extra players that you acquire in a trade. All releases are to be recorded with and subject to approval of the commission. You must maintain your full roster of 24 at the end of the day. Trades Sam Zambri REGULAR SEASON TRADES 1- Positional requirements and point caps must at all times be maintained by both teams immediately AFTER a trade has been consummated. 2- Future considerations are to consist of draft picks for upcoming entry drafts only! (Commissioner will keep track of this) 3- Trading may begin immediately following the draft. The regular season trading deadline will be determined on the website... 4- Due to the possibility of collusion and / or lopsided trades all trades will be extremely scrutinized by the commission.. The Trading Theory Trades between Managers will always be under scrutiny, and although Collusion will not be tolerated, we must except that some trades are lost, and won with all Managers. A trust of Hockey knowledge between Managers must be determined, and that all Managers are in it to win it, so long term goals and short term fixes may be part of the thought process.. AUG 1st OFF SEASON TRADING 1- Off-season trading will commence on the 1st of August. All trades should be recorded and e mailed to the Commissioner and be scrutinized by the commission, and subject to approval in order to be official. 2- You can choose to trade players for other Players, Picks, or Rookies etc. Your Roster might accumulate above the legal Roster size until Drop Day. No off season free agent signings permitted. TRADING DEADLINE This date is determined on the site, and NO trades will be available after this date. Transactions Sam Zambri LIMITED YEARLY TRANSACTIONS In order to keep managers from making an obscene amount of moves every night just to put free agents in and out of their line ups in order to get points and then dropping them the next day in order to pick up another, we are limiting our free agent signings to 40 per year. NOTE: Any moves made inside your team (bench player moves) do not count as a roster move. Freeze Deadline Sam Zambri FREEZE DEADLINE 1- Our Freeze Date for Season transactions is APR 1 @10am after the Trade Deadline. At that time your team will be on hold from any Free Agent transactions. 2- The ONLY exception to making a move AFTER that day, would be to put a player on IR for the time being until the end of season. 3- At seasons end all players borrowed for the IR player MUST be put back for the SAME player that you borrowed. Your team has to be in order no later than 3 days before the start of the playoffs! . There should be NO IR Spots left after this date. 4- If a player go’s on IR during the Playoffs, you cannot make any moves. 5- You may only continue your transactions within the 40 move limit issued at the beginning of the season. Drop Day Sam Zambri DROP DAY On this day ( 1st Tuesday after Labour day @ 12pm) all teams will be forced to drop players in preparation for the Draft. 1- Teams must protect ONLY 15 Regular Roster Players and have no more than 6 Rookies. This will leave 9 open Roster spots and any Rookie spots that need to be filled. All teams will submit there Draft Rosters NO LATER than this day! 2- Every team must have 9 empty spaces on they're Main roster after Drop Day. No more or less.. 3- Any Rookies marked in red on the Spreadsheet, must be dropped on this Day, or put into your Regular Lineup at Draft Day! (No dropping rookies at the Draft) 4- After all the drops from all teams have been submitted by the managers and Drop Day ends, Trading returns to normal the following day at 9am, and more that 9 open spaces on our Rosters may be excepted going into the Draft. 5- Once your Drops are submitted, they are Official and cannot be changed, or player trades accepted. Rookies Sam Zambri ROOKIES 1- A Rookie is constituted as a player who is drafted by an NHL team, is under the age of 22, has not played more than 82 NHL games, and is listed on your Rookie Roster. 2- Only on Draft Day can you draft a rookie player and list him as a rookie on your Rookie Roster. Any players picked up from Free Agency during the season cannot be placed on that list. 3- Rookies follow the Point cap System when inserted in your Regular Roster. All 1st year players with no NHL games are also worth the minimum 25 points. 4- A Rookie can be placed into your regular season roster at anytime during the year, but may NOT go back after that! 5- If a Rookie is involved in a trade with another team, he may be inserted into the other teams Rookie Roster, and still be considered a Rookie, but if he is traded off your Regular Roster, no one can use him in his Rookie Roster, even if he constitutes the requirements of a Rookie. 6- You can only place a Rookie on your Rookie Roster through Draft, or Rookie Roster trading. 7- An accumulation of more than 6 Rookies may occur during the Season through trades, but a maximum of only 6 can be listed after Drop Day! 8- A rookie can also be inserted into your Regular Season Line up during the Draft on your turn only, but the move MUST be stated at your selection as well as the other player selected on that pick so the Spreadsheet can be updated! KHL Rules Sam Zambri THE KHL RULE Unfortunately in today’s NHL, with player movements and contracts, losing a player off your fantasy roster to another league can be havoc. In order to correct the loss, this rule will protect that player if or until he returns to the NHL. 1- Basically, the player who signs with a team other than an NHL team, will be erased on your roster. Although, if he should return back to the NHL, no matter with what NHL team, the rights to that player continue to belong to the last owner to have him before he left. 2- If the player returns to the NHL or signs during the hockey season, the Fantasy manager will be alerted ,and he will then have 24 hours to make a decision to put him back on his fantasy roster, or leave him as a Free Agent. 3- If the player re-signs with a team, and returns to the NHL during the off season, the Fantasy Manager will have to inform the Commissioner on the upcoming Draft Day whether he will re-insert the player in his roster BEFORE he selects his draft picks. (Note: He will still drop his usual 9 players before Drop Day, then after re-inserting the player before he selects at the Draft, he will then only need to continue drafting 8 players to fill his roster) Playoffs Sam Zambri PLAYOFFS 1- At regular seasons end, the top 8 teams will qualify for the playoffs pool and a list of all your players on each team that have made the playoffs in real life NHL will be published by the Commissioner and sent to everyone to observe. 2- YAHOO! does not have a playoff pool, so another site will be assigned to you to go too with daily stats and standings listed. All of your team’s players that have made the playoffs in real life NHL will be the only players you have to use in the playoff pool. 3- All IR Players were replenished back into Regular roster formats before the Playoffs Started.. Not only must you plan a strategy for the Reg. season, but also for the upcoming playoff run. 4- Some teams may have more players in the playoffs than others. (Remember, its quality, not quantity). PLAYOFF SCORING Goalies- Wins: 1pt- SO: 1pts Players- Goals: 1pt- Assists: 1pt (No Special Team Points for Playoffs) Lottery Sam Zambri LOTTERY PICK 1- In the Off season, a Lottery Pick situation will determine which position the last 4 teams in the Final Standings will select in the upcoming Draft. 2- The purpose is to prevent collusion to finish low in the standings for Draft purposes, and also for a little luck in moving into a better Draft position.. 3- The selections will be made by the Commissioner and at least 2 other Managers for authenticity, or by Live Video on our Website. 4- The selections will be made in 3 rounds, in the order of Last place, 2nd last place, etc.. The votes will be labelled from the last team at 20-3-2-1 then the next round at 15-3-2 then the last round at 10-2: Round 1 (4 Teams, 26 Ball Total) Team 1- 20 Balls 77% Team 2- 3 Balls 12% Team 3- 2 Balls 7% Team 4- 1 Ball 3% Round 2 (3 Teams, 20 Ball Total) Team 1- 15 Balls 75% Team 2- 3 Balls 15% Team 3- 2 Balls 10% Round 3 (2 Teams, 12 Ball Total) Team 1- 10 Balls 83% Team 2- 2 Balls 17% Prizes Sam Zambri ALLOCATION OF WINNINGS The top 3 teams will share in the Jackpot for Regular Season after expenses in the following manner, 1st Place...........70% 2nd Place .........20% 3rd Place ..........10% Any ties will be then determined by Goals, Assists, then Team Points The 1st place team in the Playoffs will win 100% of the jackpot at the end of the final playoff game.
