Measures 2
Homework Answers
1. Remove the 10s, Queens, Kings and Jokers from a set of cards and shuffle
the rest of the pack. Use Aces as 1s and Jacks as 0s. (If you don’t have cards,
use a 0-9 dice or 0-9 cards or write 0-9 on pieces of paper instead.)
Take 4 cards (or roll 4 numbers). Write the digits in any order to give a fourdigit weight in grams.
For example, if you roll and choose 3, 2, 9, 1, write 3291g. If you roll or
choose a 0 first, you will have a three-digit number instead. For example, if
you roll or choose 0, 8, 4 and 5, write 845g.
Convert the weight to kilograms.
Round the weight to the nearest kilogram. 3291g rounded to the nearest
kilogram is 3kg. 845g rounded to the nearest kilogram is 1kg. Complete the
chart with your own examples.
