Kickoff vs. Clear Creek
“Central vs. Clear Creek”
This is second time that we have played the Clear Creek Clippers in school history. Last year Central won
the inaugural game 48-6. Clear Creek is coached by Kris Thorson. The Clippers plays in our own Class 3A
District 5. Last year they finished 7th with a 1-6 record (2-7 overall). They are currently 1-5 and last week
lost to Maquoketa 44-30. There was no information available for 2006 Class 3A statistical leaders or All-State
information.
Defensive Comparison... Strong Cover 3 vs. Weak 2
Advantages of Weak 2
Good run support on outside running
plays from corner. 5 underneath
defenders for pass. Great coverage to
disguise all other coverage's.
Disadvantages of Weak 2
Deep sideline passes are open. Must
have athletic C & W. Hard to teach and
learn, because there is a lot of team
work involved.

*Central Footnotes:
Tonight is Senior Night and I want to thank the 23 Seniors for their commitment throughout their time in our program. It probably
seems like your career has flown by very quickly since the DYF games as a 5th grader. Tonight you may play your last
game at Birney Field. Enjoy the moment and play hard. These times are coming to an end and when they are gone they will be gone
for good. Remember all the lessons you have learned and apply them to your lives in the future, those are the greatest rewards we are
able to take from athletics. Remember the good times and your commitment to Saber Football. Think about how far you have come.
You will always be an important part of our football history. And lastly, thanks to all the parents who have supported your studentathlete in their efforts to be a participant in life...it all starts with you!
CONGRATULATION SO COACH TOM MEADE! Recipient of this years State Don Taft Jr. High Coach of the Year Award. Thanks for
your 25+ years of service to the Central Football program. An honor well deserved.
