CableCARD Module
Motorola's MediaCipher® OpenCable standards
compliant CableCARD module allows for plugand-play integration into the next wave of
digital television (DTV) cable ready consumer
electronics products. These products will be
enabled to integrate the rich set of
MediaCipher conditional access features and
world-class security onto a standard hardware
platform. The MediaCipher CableCARD is compatible with deployed Motorola MediaCipher
cable systems in the North America market.

and MediaCipher conditional access technology
since 1993, and continues to build upon years
of unsurpassed security in more than 25 million
homes. The MediaCipher CableCARD module
allows for this highly established technology to
be provided in a wider variety of digital-ready
products, while continuing to provide the same
superb level of security.
The CableCARD module, as described by the
OpenCable standards, provides out-of-band
network processing and conditional access
functionality for a host set-top or terminal
device.
