What are the desired proposed lane and shoulder widths for Huckins Neck Road?
ypical roadway sections shall be determined during the design phase, based on requirements as identified in
"Section C - Technical Scope of Work" of the RFP
Posted speeds zones exist at 25 mph and 30 mph. Are these existing speed limits to serve as the basis of
the proposed design?
Yes, existing speed limits are to serve as the basis of the proposed design.
The RFP includes a requirement for the preparation of a Scenic Road Application. The current Town of
Barnstable Historic District and Scenic Roads map reveals that Phinney’s Lane and Shoot Flying Hill Road
are scenic roads; however, Huckins Neck Road is not. Are intersection improvements desired at Phinney’s
Lane and Shoot Flying Hill Road requiring the preparation of Scenic Road Application?
No, Scenic Road Applications are not an expected requirement. Limits of work will be outside of the
intersections with Phinney's Lane and Shoot Flying Hill Road.
What does the town envision for the scope of work for the proposed landscape/streetscape elements?
No landscape/streetscape improvements are envisioned by the Town. Consultants may propose
improvements if beneficial to the project.
What does the town envision for the scope of work for the proposed roadway lighting? No new lighting
improvements are envisioned by the Town. Consultants may propose improvements if beneficial to the
project.
What does the existing drainage system consist of? Are there any direct discharges? The Town is seeking
for the consultant to identify the various means of existing drainage and to propose the improvements.
Does the scope of work include preparation of the complete bid package or just the plans, estimate (item
list) and special? No, the scope of work does not include preparation of the complete bid package. Please
see Task 4.0 for details regarding the requirements for the bid package.
How will the Town fund the Construction of this project? MassDOT TIP funding, Chapter 90 funds or
other Town funds. At this time, the project is anticipated to be funded with Town funds, howeer, it is
possible that Chapter 90 funds could be used if available.
Page 11, Section B, 1, a - The last sentence of this section mentions a "non-price matrix" and a "price
matrix". Is Appendix "C", on page 27 of the RFP considered to be the "price matrix"? No. We are
requesting a matrix breakdown by task including hours and disciplines for the entire project. In the Non
price proposal, do not include the totals including rates and the total project price. Include the priced
matrix with the Appendix C.
10. Page 27, 3rd paragraph - The last sentence of this paragraph asks that the consultant "Provide a separate
breakdown of the fee related to the water main replacement work." Can the Town provide more
information regarding the scope of this work The last sentence of paragraph 3 on Page 27 is not relative to
this project and should be deleted. See revised Appendix C
11. Page 18, Task 7.0 - Will the Contractor provide markups of field changes for incorporation into the AsBuilt survey?
Yes, markups of all field changes will be provided for incorporation into the as-built survey.
Please acknowledge Addendum 2 on your RFP cover letter. All other terms and
remain the same as previously stated.

The Consultant's fee is subject to downward negotiation. The Consultant will execute the Town's contract
document. Town will not pay for any additional work on this project without the prior written approval.
