It wasn’t that much warmer at the show and shine we had for ANECA Federal Credit Union the second Saturday in November. This was our second show and shine for them as a club sponsor. It was a cloudy and blustery day, with little sprinkles here and there throughout the morning. The ANECA staff came out and grilled hot dogs, and brought along several different types of chips along with drinks to go with the dawgs. Even though it wasn’t the best day to have a show, we still had a great turn out with over 10 cars, with most everyone hanging out until noon even with the relentless threat of rain. Thanks to everyone who came out to support one of our Sponsors. Our next big activity, is the World of Wheels show January 23-26 2014. We had a sign-up sheet at our November meeting and had quite a few members sign up, but we still have a long way to go to get the number of volunteers we need for the show. Please mark these days on your calendar, and sign up for what you can to help us out. It is always a great time every year for me. Yes, I run around most of the time helping out with manpower as needed, but it is a chance to get away from my real 9-5 job. I also get to see some great cars along with meeting and visiting with lots of new fascinating car people, and get the chance to reconnect with old friends. Don’t forget that you can come in early before your shift, or stay after and check out the show for free as compensation for your time. The other perk is as always, not only the chance to help out our community by supporting a show that brings a lot of money into the area, but also a big opportunity to earn points toward that one of a kind Top Points Jacket we will be giving away at the Christmas party next year. Finally, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. Enjoy your friends and family during the holidays, and keep warm. I look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year and find out what kinds of great gifts (killer car parts) you may have received for Christmas. Thomas Monahan Red River Classic Mustang Club P.O. We really don't have much going on since winter is approaching. We have our annual club Christmas Party following our meeting on Saturday the 7th. Meeting is a 5:00 Asbury Church in Bossier City and the party is at 6:30 Silver Star in Haughton. Don't forget to bring your round robbin gift exchange presents. This is an adult only party so make sure you have a baby sitter. Our monthly board meeting is Wednesday the 18th 6:30 Reed Industrial off Mt Zion Dr. We will be discussing the final thoughts and plans on the World of Wheels display and the volunteer work for the show. We will start off the new year in January with World of Wheels and then cruises and shows all start back up in April. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year. Don't forget I am looking for someone to take over the Activities Director Position. Please let me know if you are interested and I will get with you on supplying all my notes from the past. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, we sure did! Looking forward to seeing you at the Christmas Party and throughout the New Year! Vickie One of our adopt a families from last year contacted me before Thanksgiving to advise me on their situation. The oldest boy is no longer living there, the youngest boy (Sam) needs your prayers he is unwilling to behave and will probably go to a Home if he doesn’t start going to school. The young girl is doing fine and the grandmother is doing ok. It was too late when they called, so we were not able to do anything for them this year. If S H OW N E W S This is my last article as Show Director. The past six years has been an incredible run and our annual Mustang Roundup will only continue to be better with your new Director. I would have liked to thank everyone personally for all the help and support you have given me these past six years. But, unfortunately, my plans to be there for the Christmas party just didn’t pan out. Please know, all of your donations of time, money, goods and etc have been truly appreciated and the Show wouldn’t have been happened without the support of the entire Club. I miss all of my Mustang Family and hope to be there to visit and raise a pint with you all again soon! Erin T h e Po n y E x p r e s s P age 4 The ballot for the 2014 Board of Directors is below. We need as many volunteers as possible to work the show and “man” our display. Speaking of our display—several members have been putting a lot of work into building the club display. As you can see here, one wheel is almost ready for paint.
