IntelCav is the first card manufacturer
to be certified by JCB in Brazil
The Japanese company is considered the 4th brand in the world
São Paulo, October 1st, 2014.- IntelCav, one of the largest banking card manufacturers in
the world according to Nilson Report, has been certified by JCB, the Japanese payment
brand. The company is the first manufacturer in Brazil to be certified by JCB.
IntelCav, that is VISA, MasterCard and AMEX certified, increases its portfolio to better serve
the means of payment market and its participation in the national card market. The
company will start its JCB card production with Caixa Econômica Federal, the largest public
bank in Latin America.
The partnership in Brazil to issue JCB certified cards was announced by CAIXA in
September 2013 and it aims to diversify the bank´s portfolio with one more international
brand. CAIXA, that already issues Elo, MasterCard and Visa certified cards, expects to
issue 5 million cards of the new brand during the period of 3 years.
JCB is the largest brand in Japan and it is estimated to be the 4th in the world, accepted in
more than 26 million establishments and with 84 million issued cards. It has started its
operations in Brazil with Cielo, being accepted in more than 1,2 million stores locally.
