In previous years, our school has organised a trip to reward 100% attendance, known as the 100
Club. This year the staff and I have agreed to make some changes and are therefore rebranding it
as the Homefield Attendance Reward. We wish to acknowledge that several children with strong
attendance get ill through no fault of their own and are kept off, as advised, for a given quarantine
period. Under the old system, this would immediately eliminate them from consideration and we
feel that continuing with this would be unfair. With these changes we hope that you will feel we are
making the achievement of strong attendance more of an incentive.
Children will now not be considered for the trip for the following reasons:
If they have had more than 3 days of absence through illness since September 2016
(this does not include agreed medical absences for appointments and or evidenced
surgical procedures);
If they have had any unauthorised holidays for any length of time;
If they are persistently late, arriving after 8:40.
After painstakingly collating the information from our attendance records, I can now confirm that
_________________________ is invited to participate in the Homefield Attendance Reward.
Achieving exceptionally strong attendance is incredibly difficult and not many children will manage
it. We are very pleased to say that your child is one of those children that has. We are very
grateful to you and to them for the hard work and commitment shown in attending school this year.
This year the Homefield Attendance Reward will be:
Hollywood Cinema, Great Yarmouth – Despicable Me 3
Monday 17th July 2017
Children will leave school at approximately 2:00PM by coach to the cinema. On arrival, children
will be offered a drink and some popcorn for the duration of the performance. The film will begin
around 3PM. It is approximately one hour and forty minutes long. We will have private access to a
screen.
We will not be returning to school and instead we ask you to collect your child from Great
Yarmouth at approximately 5:00PM.
Once the film has finished we will walk up North Drive towards the large car park, on the beach
side of the road, opposite the Imperial Hotel. A map is included if you are unsure. This will enable
you to park and collect your child safely. Please ensure your child’s supervising adult is aware that
you are collecting your child, so that the child can be signed off our list into your care.

Please do not attempt to collect your child from outside of the cinema, as this will cause
serious risk to our safeguarding and management procedures.
Please complete the slip below to confirm that you give permission for your child to attend. Also,
include any medical requirements your child may need, in addition to any we are already aware of
on their Individual Healthcare Plans.
