Face-Off Against Dementia Hockey Game

We were delighted to have our special guest Johnny Bower come to Peterborough to be a
part of our first (annual!) Face Off Against Dementia hockey game held January 10, 2015,
between the Peterborough Pete’s and the Oshawa Generals.
Our wonderful Hockey Committee who supported this event; Jacques Normand, Darryl
Porter, Nancy Mitchell, Sgt. Rob Fitzgerald and Sharon & Jim Legon put together a superb
evening which raised well over $12,000 to help support our local programs and services. We
would also like to thank Larry Robbins for the great job at dropping the puck.
In anticipation of next year, we will be meeting with the Peterborough Pete’s to plan our
second annual hockey game that will be held in January.
Kawartha Lakes Walk for Memories Results

On January 25th, our Walk for Memories was held in Lindsay for the Kawartha Lakes area.
We raised over $18,000 which represented a $4000 increase in proceeds raised compared to
previous years.
Thank- you to our wonderful Walk Committee who supported this event including; Nancy
Stinson, Michael Keay, Michael Woodcock, Michael Green, Faye Quinn, Joan McCormick and
Deb Bartlett! The turn out and the weather was perfect as well as, the support for our
community which was absolutely overwhelming! Thank-you to all who walked or sponsored
(or did both!).
Peterborough Walk for Memories Results

On January 31st, our Walk for Memories was held in Peterborough for the Peterborough
area. We raised over $18,000 and had more walkers in attendance compared to previous
years.
Plans are now underway for Walks to happen in both Cobourg and Haliburton this coming
May. If you live in these areas and are interested in supporting the Walk or to volunteer,

We are thrilled to announce that all of our Walks will be held in May 2016. We will also be
introducing a new logo which will be shared in our March Newsletter!
