How to Import Content into an Empty Insight Shell You’ve logged into your Insight course and you discover there is NOTHING THERE! Why? What does this mean? There could be several reasons; (A) you may not have asked Ed Tech to import the MyLanguageLab template or the content of a previous course, (B) a mistake may have been made, OR (C) you may have requested a META course and have logged into the wrong shell. Here are solutions: 1. 2. For scenarios A and B above, you may import the MyLanguageLab shell OR a previous semester’s course content yourself. (Instructions below) For scenario C, just search for the course shell with “META” in the title. Log into that shell. HOW TO IMPORT CONTENT INTO YOUR EMPTY INSIGHT SHELL 1. 2. Log in to your course. Choose IMPORT from the Administration menu in the left column. 3. Choose the course with the content you wish to import. It is most likely a course from a previous semester. 4. If you wish to use the empty “MyLanguageLab” template, choose FL10-001-FALL-2014. Please contact the ED TECH OFFICE for access. To import everything, make sure every box is checked. BE SURE TO CLICK NEXT. 6. Next choose the individual items you wish to import. Keep ALL selected if you want everything. If you don’t want everything, de-select the items you don’t wish to import. 7. Be sure to click on PERFORM IMPORT on the bottom right of your screen. 2 Insight (Moodle 2.7) – July 2015 How to Import Content into an Empty Insight Shell 8. Next, wait patiently while the items are imported into the empty shell. 9. When the bar reads 100%, your import will be complete! You will see the following on your screen: (Import complete. Click continue to return to the course.) 10. Now, click on “Continue” to see your course now populated with content! 11. That’s all there is to it! A COUPLE OF THINGS TO REMEMBER: • • NOTE that if you do this twice, you will end up with items from each import.
