St. Berteline’s Pre-School Newsletter Dear Parent, This half term most of your child’s learning will be organised within the theme of Who am I? and the world around me January 2016 Your child will also be concentrating on: The world that we live in and how we can look after our planet. In particular your child will be : Learning about counting and recognising number symbols Consolidating shape recognition Looking for shapes in the environment Chinese New Year Recycling Taking part in P.E. lessons and Tumble Tots Using The Paddington Bear Geography and All about the House computer programme to support learning If you have time you can help your child at home by: Developing your child’s ability to describe a simple story using an illustration in a picture book. Help your child to do the maths activities on the attached sheet. Tapestry Many of you are using the new electronic learning journal to keep up to date with your children’s learning. In order that we can gage your thoughts and opinions could I ask you to complete and return the attached questionnaire. Snow Alert As we enter the winter months you need to be aware that if we have severe weather conditions school will be closed. For information on closures initially tune into Wire FM.
