blair basketbalL Club shooting Challenge Dates – May 29

Based on what level you hit, that is what color tshirt or other apparel you win. The apparel would
all have the same design, but the color would be the
difference.
In the shooting challenge, there 4 areas to keep track of your shots: form
shooting, 2-point field goals, 3-point field goals, and free throws. On the chart,
FS = form shooting, 2FG = 2-point field goals, 3FG = 3-point field goals, and FT
= free throws. You should always start any open gym or shoot around with 20
or more form shots from different spots around the basket. They could be
one-handed or your normal form, but warm up with some form shooting each
time. These shots count towards your shooting challenge. Then after you are
done with your form shooting, any other shot that is not a free throw or 3pointer would go under 2-point field goals. So, any lay-up, put back, or post
move near the basket would go under that category.
Make sure you are shooting from all areas of the court. Don’t just
practice on the right side or left side the whole time. Be able to shoot from the
anywhere with a consistent shot. Practice shooting off the dribble using either
hand. Practice shooting coming off a screen and working on the right pivot
foot. Practice a shot fake, jab-step, pull back, and other moves while you are
shooting.
Last thing – don’t practice lazy shooting after you are done with form
shooting. Go GAME SPEED on your shots and really focus on the little things.
Knees bent, correct footwork, adding in a shot fake or jab step, getting a really
good sweat going, and other things. It is better to shoot 100-200 game like
shots, then go in and shoot 300 lazy shots. GOOD LUCK!!!
