CAMP COMMUNITY COLLEGE DESCRIPTION: Paul D. Camp Community College is seeking an energetic, innovative, and student focused Workforce Career Coach to work with students interested in noncredit, high demand credentials associated with the Workforce Credential Grant Program (WCG) at each of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. The Career Coach will assist students with career and educational planning services, program admissions, financial aid, work experiences, and job placement. In addition, the position will support student persistence and program completion by implementing retention strategies, assisting students in overcoming barriers to success, and connecting students to supportive services in their region, including the services of the one stop career centers, as appropriate. The position will assist with the completion of non-credit financial aid and scholarship applications, eligibility determinations for programs and funding, as well as other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will have knowledge of the workforce system and support resources, as well as experience in accessing supportive services for clients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, human resources, social services, or a related field; a valid driver’s license; and reliable means of personal transportation. Current completion of the Virginia Career Coach Certification Program or successful completion of the program within a reasonable time frame after employment. Excellent communication skills and the demonstrated the ability to collaborate with community college and workforce partners and employers.
