Court Etiquette and Courtesy
a)
Have consideration for fellow members.
Do not go across or behind courts which are occupied by other players.
(e.g. when going from car park to clubhouse or vice versa, members
should not go across any courts which are occupied but should go via
pedestrian entrance)
If not driving, use the pedestrian entrance.
b)
Return balls to other courts but not while a rally is in progress.
c)
Do not retrieve balls from courts where others are playing. Wait and ask
for them to be returned.
d)
Avoid excessive noise when playing or watching.
e)
Close gates when you enter or leave courts.
f)
When driving into or from car park at night, please avoid shining car lights
onto courts where play is in progress and cause as little disruption as
possible.
g)
Racquet abuse and foul language are not acceptable behaviour on court.
h)
When not playing or while waiting to play please wait outside the court
boundary gates
i)
Please vacate the court when your time is finished to allow the players
using the next time slot commence play.
j) To avoid distraction to your fellow players it is advised to have your mobile
phone powered off when on court.
K)
Call your own lines and let your opponent hear the call.
Always respect the line calls of your opponent. If the ball
touches any part of the line it is in. If you're not sure whether your
opponent's ball is in or out, call it in. If there is a disagreement, offer a
let (in other words replay the point)
l) Never use unfair or bullying tactics to gain advantage on or off the court.
Win with grace and lose with dignity.
