JUNIOR BEARS NEWSLETTER – NO 9 – 23rd April

Anzac Day March
Any players, parents or supporters who would like to show their
respect this Anzac Day by marching with the Clermont Junior Rugby
League club are asked to be at Belyando Furniture Supplies at 9.15am
Saturday morning for the 9.30am march down to the Lagoon. Players
are asked to wear their football shorts and socks (with joggers) and
their team shirts or a green/yellow shirt.
Home game this weekend for the Senior Bears
There is a home game this weekend – Anzac Day – between the Clermont
Senior Bears and the Emerald Cowboys. Game commences at 7.00pm, and
prior to that there will be a touch game between the Under 17 Junior Bears
(and friends) and the Bushpigs. Should be a very entertaining scratch
match…will the youth and fitness of the Junior Bears be too much for the
experience of the Bushpigs? The touch game will kick off at about 6.00pm.

Sport and Recreation Workshop
There is a Training Children Workshop to be held
in Emerald on Tuesday 26th may, 2009 from
6.00pm until 9.00pm at the Maraboon Tavern.

Players of the Match
Players of the Matches played against Emerald Brothers will be presented next Tuesday –
28th April at 5.30pm sharp at the canteen.
Central Highlands Junior Rugby League Trials
The Central Highlands JRL Trials will be held in Capella on April 26. All
players are to be at the Capella Showgrounds by 9.00am sharp. Players will
be allocated into teams with their coach for the day.
The Under 13s will play on field 1 commencing at 10.00am. The Under 14s will
kick off at 10.30am on field 2 while the Under 16s will kick off at
approximately 1.00pm. Despite the times, all players from all three grades MUST be at Capella by
9.00am – this will ensure that the teams that have been designated can go ahead as planned.
Representing Clermont at these trials are
Under 13s – Team 1 – Kurtys Bont
Team 2 – Brodie Perry
Team 4 – Blayne Johnson, Tom Britt and Troy Berry
Under 14s – Team 1 – Clayton Reynolds, Jayden Verrall
Team 2 – Tony Priestley
Team 3 – Angus Campbell and Chris Bierman
Under 16s – Team 1 – Dalton Parfitt
These team allocations are not set in stone, and there will more than likely be changes made prior
to the games starting hence the reason it is important to be there by 9.00am.
We wish all our boys the best of luck and know that they will play with excellent sportsmanship
throughout the trials.
We have been asked to supply two sets of jerseys for the trials. Thanks to Rosie Parfitt who will
take over the Under 17 jerseys, and Peter Bont who will take the Under 15 jerseys.
The new jerseys for Under 8s, 11s and 15s will hopefully be here by mid-next week!!
The results are in – all those who responded to the questionnaire have asked for the club shirts to be
predominantly green and gold, and the majority also requested a cooler material. Michelle is going to source
club shirt styles and prices by the next meeting – if you would like to have your say please attend this
meeting on Thursday 21st May.
