February, 2017 Precinct Chairs: First, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. I am humbled and honored to serve as your State Chair. You have entrusted me with the direction of our great Party and working together we can build on the progress we made in November. With your tremendous help, we performed better than any other swing state in 2016, by retaking the Executive Mansion, holding the Attorney General’s Office, electing an African American to the N.C. Supreme Court, and making gains in the General Assembly. Despite our success, we cannot become complacent and we must begin now to get ready for elections in 2017 and 2018 -­‐ while still supporting our Governor and helping promote his agenda. All this begins with you. As a former precinct chair myself, I understand the importance of this position. Our precincts are the cornerstone of our party. Without organized precincts, we simply cannot win elections regardless if it is a local, federal or state race. Precincts are the key to breaking the Republican-­‐majority in the General Assembly. Republicans in the General Assembly remain focused on obstruction and political games. In Washington, the progress we made is in grave danger of being utterly destroyed by the Trump presidency. We must organize as many precincts as possible over the next two weeks and throughout 2017. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and work with you to make this happen. This will be a hard task but I am confident that with the strength of our Party’s organization and the incredible energy we have witness over the recent weeks, we will be successful.
