JUNIOR DEPUTY ACADEMY
Dear Parent,
Sheriff Gary Cutler and the Hays County Sheriff’s Office are proud to announce its Junior Deputy
Academy Program for the summer of 2016. There will be two separate Academies, one for west-side
Hays County residents and one for east.
Wimberley: June 21 through June 23 - Wimberley Community Center, 14069 RR 12

Kyle: July 26 through July-28 - Wallace Middle School, 1500 West Center Street
APPLICATION DEADLINE: JULY 12, 2016
We ask that you indicate which camp your child will be attending. Camp times are from 8 a.m. to 5
p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. There is NO CHARGE for your child attending.
The program is open to boys and girls 8 - 10 years of age. There are a limited number of seats available
on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The children will tour the Sheriff’s Office, a local fire station, and the Commemorative Air Museum in
San Marcos. They will interact with local first responders and Sheriff’s Office employees who will
introduce them to various components of emergency services. Sheriff Gary Cutler will meet with the
children as well.
All children will receive a t-shirt and graduation certificate. Water and snacks will be provided for the
children; however, it is the parents’ responsibility to provide breakfast and lunch with the exception of
the Kyle Academy in which lunch will be provided on Tuesday and Thursday.

CERTIFICATIONS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
I, the undersigned, certify that my child is at least EIGHT (8) years old. I understand that falsification of any
information on this form may disqualify my child from the program.
In consideration for the acceptance of my child’s registration in the Junior Deputy Program, I hereby release
HAYS COUNTY the HAYS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, their agents, employees, officers, and servants
from ANY and ALL damages and injuries which may occur while my child is in the Junior Deputy Academy
Program, including transportation. I certify that I have the legal authority to execute this release on behalf of
my child.
PERMISSION TO ATTEND:
By signing this document I acknowledge that I have given my authorization for my child to attend the Junior
Deputy Academy Program and travel to San Marcos, Texas to tour the Hays County Sheriff’s Office and other
facilities as described.
PERMISSION TO PHOTOGRAPH:
As part of the Junior Deputy Academy, a group photo of the children will be taken and placed in local
newspapers. There may also be media coverage of the academy as well as video to be used by the Sheriff’s
Office. I authorize the photography of my child for this purpose.
