Congratulations to Ngarangi Babbington who placed third overall in U16, W1s, Tairoki Tahau-Hodges & Hitira’a MahanaTahau-Hodges who both made it to the champ finals. Manu Korero-ā-kura This event will be held next Thursday 6th April. All students have been working hard to prepare and present their speeches. As you are aware we would love to have all of our students stand on the day however we need to be realistic and follow a process. All students have stood in front of their rōpū, a student and teacher selection process has been followed to select so many speakers to stand in front of their Pou. Once this is complete parents of children representing their Pou will be informed by the classroom teacher. Ki o Rahi Wellington Intermediate Schools Tournament On Wednesday 5 April a group of students will travel to Tawa College rugby playing field to compete in this tournament. Whānau are welcome to attend in support. Games start at 10am Whānau are invited to come and listen to our tamariki present their korero they have been working on. Draw for 29 March Team Versus A programme will be available by next Monday along with approximate times of individual speakers. We ask that all whānau are seated in the hall by 9:20 to commence. Super Sixes National Sports Tournament A group of tau 6, staff and whānau support will travel to Hastings on 10 April to compete in this tournament. Students will compete in netball, tag, Ki o rahi and basketball. Students continue to train at school in these codes The poumua fundraising group are holding a Easter raffle for funds to be donated to this kaupapa. The draw has not yet been posted. Draw for 3 April Team Versus Huia Absences – whānau of students who are absent for 3 or more days who have not notified the school will be contacted. A medical certificate maybe required after the 3rd day. Students are not to return until they are fully recovered. Time Holy Family Time Ct 3.40pm 1 Huia will play their final draw on 10 April. be advised. Draw to Kapi Mana Netball Season Players who have returned their panui and paid their fees will receive their playing uniform early next term. Players continue to train during the lunch hours. YMCA Miniball and Unihoc Registrations will continue to be taken until teams have 10 players who have returned their panui and paid their fees. The first games for both codes start in the second week of term 2. School Uniform Sports Uniforms - if you have any school sports uniforms please return them to the kura as soon as possible to be utilised for the next sports code. School Uniforms – I have a handful of old stock available for purchase from the tari. Items include school shirts (size 16 up), sweatshirts (size 10 up), maroon stadium jackets, maroon fleec jackets, winter beanies and summer potae. These items will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.
