Goal Area: Global Engagement and International Education

Goal Area: Global Engagement and International Education
Dimension Statement:
GOAL 3: Establish international research partnerships, and select academic programs, in emerging international centers of excellence in
order to materially enhance RIT’s international reputation and enable innovative ways of educating international students.
Strategy
3a. Develop a transparent process by
which new international sites can be
proposed, assessed and implemented. Use
this process to establish a network of RIT
"Global Gateway" Partners-universities,
institutions, labs, companies-with the
infrastructure, expertise, and capacity to
support faculty, staff and students in
achieving our global experiential learning
goals.
3b. Identify areas of the world in which RIT
has a strong presence of alumni, corporate
contacts, and faculty networks in order to
help focus our future development of
international relationships. Identify
international centers of excellence in fields
of study in which RIT maintains a strong
academic portfolio.
3c. Establish targeted centers of
collaborative research with universities,
laboratories and/or corporate entities in
areas of common expertise and aligned goals
(see also goal #1).
