PROCEDURE FOR EDIT ITEM ATTRIBUTES
Edit Item Attributes can be used for changing single or multiple records.
1. Select Item Status Screen (F5)
2. Scan barcode or barcodes
3. Highlight barcodes by clicking on the first barcode in the list, holding down the shift key, and clicking
on the last barcode in the list.
4. Right click in the highlighted area and choose Edit Item Attributes
5. Make changes needed by clicking into the area of the attribute you will be changing. For most of them,
a box will appear. If there are set choices, you will see a drop down arrow to select the setting,
otherwise there will be a field for you to enter the information. When you are done with the changes
to that attribute, click Apply after each change before moving on to another attribute.
6. Click Modify Copies after all changes are complete.

When reassigning items within your cluster, change:
o Owning Library,
o Circulation Library,
o Location/Collection (even when it appears correct, it needs to be updated after the Owning
Library has been changed), and
o Status to In Transit. You may choose to change the status to In Transit by checking the items in
after completing the other changes needed.
Items sent to Shipping in black slip boxes for discard only need their status changed to Discard/Weed.
When sending items to Evaluation for missing pieces, damage, or reassign, change only the Circulation
Library (not the Owning Library) to SV (Service Center) and the Status to Evaluation. Include a yellow
Evaluation slip with each item describing the problem.
When sending an entire tote to Evaluations (Labeled Do Not Sort- Evaluations) the items do not need
their Circulation Library changed. Change the status to Evaluations and include a yellow Evaluations
slip in each item stating what is to be done. When all items in the tote are to be handled the same,
such as reassigns, one slip will suffice.
